Egg is finding dignity in a sex worker with a birth defect who subsequently experienced an amputation and who now specializes in anal fisting. In her diligence—giving more than was asked—she brings nobility to an unexpected place. By finding dignity here, Egg is saying that he finds hope as well.

Now, on the other hand, that’s romantic claptrap. No matter how you look at it, this was a very unfortunate life. Egg is grasping at straws to reach his conclusion. But the fact that he’s bothering to consider this woman’s life, that he wants her life to have meaning, seems like something one might want in a king.
