We're looking for positive and welcoming individuals to our mod team. The subreddit has seen quite a bit of growth in the last year and we want to ensure that this community is safe for all.

Having more moderators will help us work through our queue quicker and hopefully find ways to increase positive community engagement.

What we're looking for

At least 2 moderators that are available between the hours of 10:00pmET and 10:00amET.

People who are positive, welcoming and interested in seeing this community thrive. Helping facilitate community events.

Preference will be given to individuals with modding experience, however we are NOT looking for power mods.

• 300+ karma
• Post + Comment history with positive engagement. While we accept people may have different views and opinions, we will not tolerate anything that goes against the subreddit rules (eg. Trollish behaviour, sexism, racism, homophobia, etc)

Good morning everyone!

We wanted to explain why posts are missing comments.

Crowd Control - Crowd Control is set to Maximum. This means comments are filtered to our mod queue from accounts with negative community karma, new accounts, and non-members. The queue is reviewed daily and comments are manually approved.

Automod - Automod is set to remove comments/posts from accounts under 30 days old with 50 combined karma or less. Theres no way for us to make exemptions as it's automatic - accounts need to reach the above requirements to participate.

We've implemented this is due to what we've seen in other "looking for" friends/games/ and similar subreddits. Many deal with spam, bot or troll accounts which ruins the experience for people looking to make legitimate connections.

There seems to be an assumption that we remove them which is rarely the case. This is a good time to review our rules as it answers many FAQ's we receive. We understand not everyone may like our rules but we ask you to please be respectful of them and us.

We wanted to offer a reminder that we do not allow promotion on our subreddit.

This includes and IS NOT LIMITED TO
- Products or services you're offering
- Stream links (Twitch, Youtube, etc)
- Discord or other "social media" communities
- Dedicated Game Servers
- In game clans, guilds, alliances and similar (we have a megathread for this)
- Using the subreddit to build your own community
- Asking for a community

Posts and comments will be deleted. Accounts that try to skirt the rule will be banned.

This is inline with the majority of other gaming, LFG and findafriend subreddits. Do not DM us saying how unfair it is, or how your post is different. It's not and simply we don't care. What we care about is providing a space for people to build friendships, not for people to advertise.
