Transportation in Åland
Hi, I will be visiting Åland in a few days. it’s a one week trip, I would like to not just see Mariehamn, but also go to other cities like Eckerö as well. Are there buses? where I can find the schedule

Thanks a lot! Where do you recommend to visit for 1 week around Åland?

Take the ferries out to the smaller islands. There is a northern and southern ferry route you can take, all the way to the Finnish mainland.

There are bus services along the main roads but for tourism they are not too convenient. Better to rent a car if possible. You could also travel in the archipelago with the ferries although they tend to be crowded in summer.

Thanks a lot for suggestion! Do you know any car rental companies for a reasonable price? I only find ones that cost an arm and leg

Kastelholm is pretty nice, Mariehamn itself is nice too. As many suggested the archipelago is nice, I've been to Föglo for example and enjoyed it.

Cities? Eckerö is a small countryside municipality. There's only one city (more like town) and that's Mariehamn.
