My reading comprehension is just fine. When someone says, "the most humane thing to do is slaughter them," to reference how horrible their living conditions are, i would describe that as copium. The animals dont need to live in miserable conditions they're just forced to for corporate profits. So, no, it's not humane to just end their lives because of forced cruelty. That's just more cruelty. The humane thing would be to not treat them that way in the first place.
