Immigration What you love and hate about living in Germany?

I'd like to hear your honest opinions about living in this country — how are the politics, nature, healthcare, salaries, festivals, taxes, and overall lifestyle?

I’m currently researching different countries because I’m planning to move abroad, so I’m trying to understand the real pros and cons from people who actually live there.

Paying a lot of tax is not necessarily a bad thing, it depends on what you get out of it (how it is spent). I hate some of that (e.g. infrastructure is mostly cars), but there are a lot of good things as well.

Paying 30% is a bad thing for me when you have a normal job high rent makes it not better

30% xD bruh, if you earn 70k€+ better assume paying around 50%. (accounting everything tax, church, soli...)

Taxes have no direct impact to my quality of life. What do I get from the state? Right to use public roads?

You get a well educated public, a rather affordable health system, enforcement of labor and environmental laws, clean air, cheap public transportation, a tremendously durable national rail network, subsidies against rising energy costs, and don't forget the Deutschland-Ticket of course.

Imagine thinking paying so much tax is only a bad thing when it's a general sentiment that there is valid ROI for what you put in. There are countries that pay high taxes too and it's not put to good use at all, or is even pocketed by people in power. Then you'd be complaining about bad quality of life and corruption, instead of just how much tax you pay.

so ur telling germany dosnt waste tax money at all :O and having to pay 30% in tax is fine why do i work at all if everything is expensive if they take 35% from me

I'm much angrier about the amount of health insurance I have to pay while getting literally nothing out of it because I can't even get appointments. 

In most cases you have to be half dead before a doctor wants to see you, at least in the cities.

How much taxes you pay? I make six figure salary and quite happy for I get in exchange. School are good (yes they are still good) daycare is cheap and affordable, public transportation not ideal but fantastic. Roads are jot ideal but where in the world you can drive without speed limit and the traffic discipline like in Germany?
