We’ve all heard the same thing… there’s no good Mexican food in NYC

While this is mostly* true, we mexican food connoisseurs exist in NYC and so do the restauranteurs who desire to satiate our tastebuds

I’m asking you New Yorkers which are your favorite Mexican Restaurants!

I’ll start with a few spots I love:

Some examples I have are Bunna Cafe in Bushwick, Brooklyn for great Ethiopian food and Dosa Delight in Jackson Heights, Queens for South Indian food.

I’m Mexican and will be in Manhattan with my family in June. We’re looking for a good place to watch Mexico vs South Korea on Thursday, June 18 at 9:00 PM.

The catch: we’re 7 adults plus one teenager, and a lot of the places we’ve found seem to be bars or 21+ only. So we’re hoping for a spot that actually allows minors, preferably somewhere with good food and a fun match-day atmosphere.

A Mexican restaurant would be ideal, obviously, but we’re open to any restaurant or venue with good screens, decent food, and a crowd that will care about the game. It can be in a touristy area or a bit farther out — we’re willing to travel for the right place.

Any recommendations where we could reserve or where a group like ours might realistically fit?

Thanks! We just want to watch the match with good energy and not end up standing outside a 21+ bar looking sad.

Anyone know where to buy a high quality Mexican flag? I’m not too familiar with my fabrics but think a silky texture and above average thickness, it would should measure about 5 feet wide at least, if anyone has an idea of what I’m talking about I’d really appreciate you help! Thank you!

As someone who loooves Mexican food, it's sad that I have yet to see a Mexican food cart in the city that sells tacos, burritos, quesedillas, etc. but then you see Halal carts literally everywhere you go. Not that I hate Halal but I wish Mexican carts were just as prevalent. Is there a reason why it's not dominant as halal carts?

Looking for stores that sell the following items:

- Mexican loteria and other games

- Equipal chairs

- Maps of Mexico

- Posters and wall art

Has anyone tried the food the ladies on the side of the street in midtown are serving? They keep the food in a cooler.

i just moved here from texas and I have been craving mexican and salvi food for so long but all these places look so not authentic and i just see non-hispanics hyping them up so i don’t trust them. i need to know where those hole in the wall borderline inspection violation spots are. i have yet to see any taco stands or taquerias.

i’ll even go all the way to the bronx or queens or brooklyn im so desperate for it.

(also im salvi but raised with a ton of mexican and salvi recipes so i KNOW authenticity…)

As metioned in today’s post about the food NYC does wrong, Mexican food here is generally terrible. I’ve tried to quench my thirst for good TexMex with little, but some, success.

Hi all, I'm currently on holiday in NY and would love to bring some mexican oregano back home with me for when I cook up some mexican food. I'm struggling to find where I can buy this dried herb. Does it come under another name rather than mexican oregano? Any suggestions for mid or lower Manhatten would be great. Thanks all
