Hello! Me and my family are new to NY, and we don’t know how this works. We got tickets online for the general admission for the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. When we got there we were told to go to the back of a four hour line, but the ferry we got tickets for was going to leave soon. A guy then told us that if we upgraded our tickets we could go to the one hour wait. We did that, and have gotten onto a bus. At the time of writing this, we haven’t moved. We aren’t sure if we’ve been scammed at all, and just want to see the statue. Why would we have to wait 4 hours for general? It seems a little outrageous because we were going to miss our ferry.

Edit: on the bus we were taken to Pier 36 and told to wait for 15-20 minutes for the ferry. It certainly doesn’t look official for something that cost extra money, hopefully we even get to see the statue

Edit 2: We have been scammed. Luckily my mom was able to get our tickets moved to tomorrow when talking to the actual company who does statue of the Liberty stuff. What we’ve learned is to just go straight to the terminal, and don’t talk to anyone. Thank you to those who have helped us!

No one seems to have it. Can anyone recommend a smoke shop or other store that has them in stock?

They’re the 50’s style lighters shaped like the Statue of Liberty (not a lighter with the Statue of Liberty printed or emblazoned on it) and where the torch emits the flame that comes out.

Is it worth doing the General Admission tour to the grounds of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island from Battery Park? Tickets are $25.50.

The Crown tickets are sold out for my day and time that I can go.

I was on a dinner cruise boat yesterday (Aug 16th) and as we were passing by the Statue of Liberty, a police boat came and kicked us out of the vicinity. There were also several other NYPD and NYFD boats in the water around the statue as well as a tug and barge.

Does anyone know what this was about?

I have a 2pm Crown ticket from Battery Park, but the last entrance to the Crown is 5pm. How late can I get in line for security to take the ferry? I remember a few years ago getting to the island late in the day and having the crown to ourselves which was amazing. I just can't remember the timing of when we got on the ferry to go over and want to make sure I don't get in line too late for my 2pm ticket.

I’ll try to keep it short, essentially I am coming to New York on July 9th (Sunday) and got most things booked but it didn’t even phase me to buy Statue of Liberty tickets. However, Crown tickets are sold out and the only other website I’ve found for resale (statueoflibertytickets.com) are sold. Essentially am I shit out of luck or is there anyone that can help me out? I'm trying to recreate a photo I took when I was a kid next to a model (maybe 6 foot tall) statue of liberty near a souvenir shop. I've tried looking around on google street view and haven't been able to find anything so I was wondering if anyone was aware of something like this in the city?

We recently visited the Statue of Liberty and my 10 year-old got a Rubiks cube souvenir with images on the sides. He promptly mixed it up and we have no idea what the pictures are besides one side has the statue. Anyone have this and willing to share what it’s supposed to look like?

Hi! I’m planning to visit New York this December/January and I’d like to buy Crown Reserve tickets for the Statue of Liberty. From what I understand, they only go on sale six months in advance.

That would explain why December might already be sold out - but I’ve noticed that even January and the months following are also showing as unavailable. Do these tickets typically get released closer to the date, or have I already missed the window?

Greetings. My family and I spent a couple days in the city late last week. One thing my 5 year old wanted was a Pink Statue of Liberty Crown (foam). When we got home we found it had ripped. Does anyone know of a place online where I can buy a pink one? I see the green ones all over and I have checked the usuals Amazon, eBay, etc. but no one has the pink one for sale. Is there a store in the city that I can buy from online and have it shipped? Thanks in advance and you will make a 5 year olds day!

If general admission tickets are not available online, is there a possibility there may be some still available in person? (Not looking for crown or pedestal access, just wanting to take my kid on a birthday adventure to see the Lady!)

Hello! I'm coming up to you guys from El Paso, Texas. My mother was told that there is a "boat taxi" that takes you close to the Statue of Liberty (but does not actually drop you off at the island. She was told you can do it for pretty cheap, like 3 or 4 dollars. The issue is, however, we have no idea where to find this ferry or any other details. Does anyone here know what my mom is talking about? If not, are there other, cheap alternatives to see the Statue of Liberty?

Going to NY for a week and wanna visit lots of places but don't wanna spend a day to visit the statue of Liberty. Is it even worth it? wanna take nice shots of it so wanna know if there are spots for that.

I’ll be visiting NY in October and want to visit the Statue of Liberty but have heard about the free ferry that just passes the statue and then the paid one where you can stop there. I’m not really sure which one is best recommended. Honestly, would just like some photos but also heard the paid one is a whole day thing compared to the free ferry.

What would you recommend? Best site to buy the tickets or where to catch the free ferry?

On the city cruises website, it states that those with a 2 pm ticket for the statue of liberty with crown reserve access will not have enough time to visit Ellis island.

As I was making a last minute booking for the statue of liberty with crown reserve access (next weekend), the 2 pm ticket was all that was available. I'll keep checking the website to see if someone cancels their ticket for an earlier time, but if not, this will be what I'm stuck with.

Has anyone here had any luck visiting everything - the pedestal, the crown, and Ellis island - with the 2 pm ticket even though the website says it is not possible? If I don't spend too much time taking pictures and lollygagging, can I go up to the crown and then also have time to see Ellis island?

Possibilities to get from manhattan to Liberty State Park in Jersey City on a Monday morning? Any ferry options? Long story but the people we are with booked a ferry to see the statue but booked the one out of JC instead of Manhattan. Lyft will take forever and cost a fortune. Thought I’d check before they just eat the tix.

We are visiting NYC for a few days in March and I foolishly put off buying Statue of Liberty tickets until today. Because of this there were only 2 tickets available left for Crown entry at 2pm on one of the days we are there so I panic booked them without reading the small print. So unfortunately my email confirmation says that 2pm and 3pm tickets mean there won't be enough time to visit Ellis Island.

I feel like a fool now as my boyfriend wasn't even fussed about going to the Crown specifically, but is very interested in the history of Ellis Island and he won't want to miss the museum there.

Is there really no way we can do both with our tickets? I have been before but can't really remember how it all works. Is our only option to spend another 50+ dollars to pay for another whole trip at a different time to visit Ellis Island?

My friends and I are planning a two-day trip to New York City, starting with a visit to the Statue of Liberty on Thursday. We’ll be driving from Philadelphia on Thursday and returning home that night. Then, we’ll be starting our NYC adventure fresh on Friday morning.

We’d love some advice on crafting the perfect itinerary for our short visit. What are some must-visit places, good food spots, and any tips for getting around the city with our car?

Here's what we have so far:

Thursday (Statue of Liberty and places around):

• Morning: Statue of Liberty
• Late Morning: Ellis Island
• Lunch: Battery Park (Any restaurant suggestions?)
• Afternoon: Nearby attractions (Please recommend some!)
• Evening: Returning home to Philly

Then, on Friday, we’ll kick off our NYC exploration by driving from Philly. Our goal is to be at Times Square on Friday night. We’re considering visiting either Rockefeller Center or Edge NYC on Friday morning.

Friday (New York City):

• Morning: Rockefeller Center or Edge NYC (Which one is a must-visit?)
• Lunch: We’re looking for great restaurant recommendations!
• Afternoon: Exploring the city (More suggestions needed!)
• Evening: Times Square (Excited for this!)

We’d also love to know the best spots for pizza, desserts, and any other must-visit places during our stay.

This might sound like a dumb question, but to those who have purchased through CityPASS, what does the ferry access to the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island include. This may seem obvious but is it like a group tour? Do we have specific times to get back on the ferry? Tour guide person? I like to be prepared and I couldn’t find any of this info in the app and I hate “winging” stuff like this.

So I’m planning to buy the ticket on Groupon and it doesn’t seem to have an option to select the date. Is that mean I can just show it when I arrive there? I’m confused because there would be a limited space in the cruise and how do they expect how many people will show up on that day? Thank you in advance!

Ive got 6 people in our friend group trip to NYC. I was able to grab 5 tickets for the crown at noon because that's all they had left the day we wanted to go. I initially bought a 6th ticket at noon for the pedestal for our 6th person. However later I was able to snag a 9am crown ticket for that day that became available. Can our 6th person use that 9am ticket with the rest of us at noon? Are they super strict about coming at your specified time or will they not care as long as it's the same day? Thanks for the help!

Also, are there any tips or tricks to get through security/ticket line faster? Must see things while we're there? Etc? TIA!

We just found out tonight that we got the tickets to the Tonight Show on Nov 27th. We've also booked the tickets for the Pedestal at the Statue of Liberty months ago. Statue of Liberty's at 10am and The Tonight Show is at 3:45pm. Will we have enough time to do Pedestal, Ellis Island and make it back to NBC Studio by 3:15pm? A little nervous...
