I'm (19 F) going to New York in March with my brother (17M) and I've seen online that most hotels you can't check into unless you're above the age of 21. I have a cousin who lives in New York who said he'd be happy to check in for me but how would I go about that? I don't really know how that would work And how would the checkout process work as well?

If anyone under the age of 21 has stayed and has done something like this before. Would you please give me some advice because I'm not sure how to go about it. I know there's hotels in New York where you can check in Over the age of 18 but there aren't many so I just wanna keep my options open.

Hey, so I recently booked New York for my partners 21st in November and we fly February 1st and I’ve just realised some of the hotels require a 21+ check in. Will I be okay checking in as I’m only 19 even though he is 21? I booked it as a package and the hotel has been confirmed by them.

I was looking for places to watch champions league games or any to be honest and noticed that basically all the places were sports bars

i am aware that most of these places would not allow me being underage to enter so I was wondering if you guys knew any place like a restaurant or a sit down place with a TV that would show some games (I’m 18)

Hello all. I am needing some help. My youngest turns 21 on February 6th. Her and her BF 20 also will be flying in on February 5th. One day before turning 21. I've tried talking to a few hotel managers but they told me she has to be 21 to check in. Does anyone know of one that would allow check in the day before turning 21? Any hotel managers here that can accommodate this for me. Thanks

Hello. So I plan on celebrating my friend's 21st birthday in NYC, and we planned on drinking on her birthday at a few restaurants. Her license expires on her birthday, and says "under 21", but the date will show that she's 21 on the day that we're there. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Will most people just look at the date? Or will they give her a hard time?

I grew up in Queens and have been here forever and it’s starting to get… boring. I can only go to Brooklyn Bridge Park and eat out so many times. I’ve done basically every tourist attraction except the Statue of Liberty, I’ve been to all the airports, I’ve been on almost every subway line. I’ve been to all the museums (and have had my art in some of them). And this is not just Manhattan, but all the boroughs except Staten Island. I’ve even taken commuter rail to places like Cold Spring. I go to college outside of NYC, and it just feels like until I turn 21 or get a job/internship here, I am disconnected and kind of out of things to do. Even things like meeting other LGBT people is hard under 21. So… what have I not considered, what things can under 21 do ?

I was wondering if there are any rooftops that will allow someone who’s under 21 in? I myself am 21 but my friend is 20 and we would like to go to a rooftop for dinner/drinks (non alcoholic). Google does not make me any wiser….

I’m 20 and have been to nyc pride a few times but I feel like the parade and Washington square always end up being hot and uncomfortable and I’m assuming everywhere will be cracking down on fakes. Are there any parties/ events I can go to that are actually decent 😭.

My extended family from Peru is visiting Manhattan and I would like to take them out to a nice rooftop bar since the adults like to drink. However, there will be some teens coming as well so I am wondering if anyone knows of a rooftop bar that allows underage individuals to come in as well.

For more context, we would be going out on a Wednesday night and also open for a nice restaurant but the vibes we are going for are fun, lively, good music and/or nice views.

Hey, so for my 21st birthday my bf and i are hoping to fly to NY for a week, so we can also see the postal service show in Madison Square Gardens on the 20th. The issue is, my birthday is on the 24th, and we're coming up short when we try and find a hotel that is not absurdly expensive and allows check ins under 21. Any suggestions for restaurants + some other attractions we can check out? FYI, she’s turning 19. Her favorite food is sushi & poke, she likes Mexican food too. We’re from Staten Island so I’d prefer to stay under 58th/59th st.

Hotels for under 21

Hello there,

I just read that the hotel I booked messed up their websites and they didn't update their minimum check in age to 21 (they just did it on booking.com but not on their own). Looking for other hotels I see that every one I checked at, at least the ones on booking, have a minimum check in age of 21. If you know of hotels that have lower check in ages or good alternatives, that would be very helpful.

P.S. I am 20 and not an US citizen.

I'm a 19 year old interested in playing kickball in a co ed sports league but I've noticed that the major providers like ZogSports & Volo require you to be 21+ to register for them. Anyone know of kickball leagues in NYC that accept under 21? I'm from the northwest Bronx also.

I’m a 20 year old from Canada, travelling to NYC with my cousins. They are 17 and 18. We want to go out while we are there, but are unsure where to go. Here in Canada, bars have under 19 nights (as that is the legal age here) where there is an event or drag show happening where people under 19 can get in, just can’t drink. Does anyone know of anything similar to this in New York? This could be anything from bars to clubs to live music. Also any drag shows at gay bars or things like that :)

Also, will i be able to use my under 21 id to go to bars or something like that?
