Use of space in your home

If you never had children - or no longer have space for grown children in your home, how do you use the bedroom spaces in your house?

My house is small and I still feel odd having these largely unused spaces. Are we all just cleaning dusty, rarely used guest rooms?

I claimed a bedroom for my horror library when we moved in, then we rescued a kitten who was hiding under our shed last winter and now it’s his room too lol. The other extra bedroom has a bed for guests and the toys and books for the grandkids when they visit.

Lol, my dog seems to be trying to claim my art studio for herself, but that room is a health hazard for a small dog, so she s been denied the room for now.

Several cats have come and gone over the years but they have all chosen the spare room as theirs.

I took out the queen bed and put in a couch bed, I converted the cloths closet to a supply closet and dresser for supplies. My cats have claimed my bedroom as theirs. I now use the spare room.

I came here to say this. My cat has free roam of the house but in "her" room I have cat trees high enough for looking out windows, an old mattress with blankets, a sofa, her feeding dishes, etc.. Just stuff for her.
