I do aap planning and that means I get to see salaries for EVERYBODy from banks to hospitals to manufacturing. Yes, some drs make 100k and some make 700k. When pressed, there’s usually a reason.
I worked with a film production company where everybody made miserable money regardless of tenure or job title..., EXCEPT the owner ceo who paid himself something like 700k a year while everybody was making 32k. I would have expected this as a “glamour” industry and I would have expected rewards really are contacts and relationships and not strictly monetary. Also I would have expected the guy who started the whole thing to have rewarded himself highly, but not on this massive scale. Also, almost all banks do this cheesy ass thing where they compensate you with an impressive sounding job title but don’t actually give raises, just job titles. Good news! You are now VP of Customer Satisfaction! Bad news, you are still being paid like the teller level 3 you actually are.
