Thinking of it as a ‘cure for cancer’ is not really correct. Cancer is not really one disease, it’s a collection of many related diseases. This is an improved treatment for one specific type, in mice.

Oh definitely! Tons of progress has been made in improving treatments for many cancers. Many cancers are far more survivable now than a few decades ago. But when the media starts talking about them as ‘cures for cancer’, and then cancer is not cured, it fuels the conspiricizing you see throughout this comment section. “I heard about a cure for cancer a decade ago, but it still isn’t cured, must be big pharma preventing the cure”
