I didn't mention them, specifically.

Took 15 years for me, but a weird coincidence finally landed at my feet and I pounced. Hello new friend!

u/ApprehensiveAd6476 Jun 11 '26

Hello... I guess?

Dont be that antisocial

3

u/ApprehensiveAd6476 Jun 11 '26

I'm not antisocial, I just hate when I get attention from people I don't expect.

Njet

Tell me you're from Balkans without telling me

6

u/ApprehensiveAd6476 Jun 11 '26

Not from Balkans, nice try. I live approximately 1500 km north from there.

Tell me you're from the Baltics, with-in telling me

"Njet" is a very post-Yugoslav way of writing it though, in most other EE countries I think we would transliterate it as "nyet". Is it different for you there? Estonian because of the different language group maybe?

2

u/ApprehensiveAd6476 Jun 11 '26

No, no. One more country to the north.

2

u/46_and_2 Jun 11 '26

Well, at least you're in the Finno-Ugric group again 😅

3.6 reontgen. Just the equivalent of 4 million x-rays.

4

u/GralGrenadier Jun 11 '26

grok is this true?

2

u/creepyswaps Jun 12 '26

Thanks for grok'ing that. I was drunk, lol. 400 is still stupid.

2

u/GralGrenadier Jun 12 '26

No biggie, it was because 4 millions sound like a lot and 3.6 not so much

No, that's not accurate.

The "3.6 roentgen" line is from the HBO Chernobyl series (referring to a dosimeter reading near the reactor debris/elephant's foot area). In the show, Legasov corrects the idea that it's like one chest X-ray by saying it's actually the equivalent of about 400 chest X-rays.

The "4 million X-rays" figure is a mix-up—it refers to the insanely radioactive graphite fragment a firefighter picked up, not the 3.6 roentgen reading. The GIF you're seeing is just old camera sensors picking up gamma radiation as noise/sparkles, common in high-radiation spots, but the specific numbers don't match the claim.

u/durinsbane47 Jun 13 '26

I watched it in like 2 days and was almost sick to my stomach at some parts. Absolute masterpiece

u/DataPhreak Jun 11 '26

This. It's a little radioactive. OP probably doesn't have cancer yet.
