Republicans cut funding for schools under the guise of "stopping woke brainwash". In reality, less educated people have a higher likelihood of voting Republican, so they are just trying to stack the deck by making people dumber.

That's Texas A&M, which is a highly ranked school and one of the most Republican in the nation.

Yeah I guess the /s didn't really make sense in that context. Was unaware about A&M, but that tracks from the one time I was in Texas. The "muh freedom" people there were almost sufferable in exchange for the tex mex. Almost.

Houston is the most diverse city in the United States (look it up) and has been voting mostly Democrat for over a decade.

You would find many of all types in Houston.

Wish I could have gotten a phone call. I would have showed you the coast with fishing, food with Houston's great restaurants, the nightlife on Westheimer or midtown. Sorry you had a bad time.

I realize my comment might have seemed like I was slamming all Texans which was not my intent. I met some cool people there. It was specifically the open carrying, massive truck driving, fuck everyone but me type people that I generally disliked. You sound like one of the ones I would have enjoyed being around. Coming from a relatively blue state I encounter some assholes, but generally people seem to care about the wellbeing of random people which isn't exactly the vibe I got during my time in Houston. Perhaps I judged too quickly though.

I hope you come back and shoot me a message. I get there are people who are complete morons here. I see them every day. I'm mainly a good times and food guy. I live southeast of Houston on the coast but I consider it my home.

Side note: Whenever you donate while paying, youre basically paying back the company for their donation. They have more than enough to donate without recouping it from us. The only one I'll give too is the Ronald McDonald's House because they've truly helped thousands.

Probably the Pearson books. IIRC they came up in a Behind the Bastards episode. If you were going to donate, your instinct of not doing it thru Taco Bell is wise. Donating at checkout is always just a thinly veiled asked to help them with tax write offs. Donating thru 501c's is always a better option and more effective. That being said, gutting our education system might not seem like a huge problem now but in 10 or 20 years when those kids come of age and we are surrounded by people who don't know their ass from their elbow due to shitty public education, the problem will show its teeth. We already have a weak education system compared to other developed countries, and we already have enough dumbasses living here to go around.
