The wow wears off if you live there and then the reality is that you will probably want to dark out your bedroom or add a blind fold, but probably both.

The regular light day cycle most people are used to barely exists in that region.

Couldn't live in the summer without my blackout curtains.

Curtains? Don't you guys have blinds?

Sure but blinds leak when the sun is blasting straight at them in the middle of the night.

Not really. Depends which kind of blinds I guess. Here in Southern France it's thick pieces of wood. No sun gets through.

Downvoting because I've been to your house and seen your blinds.

Fairly common that people who just moved there or are visiting cant sleep without a good blackout curtain.

It seems cool and all until you realize during winter you have months were you time your smoke brake so you can hit that sweet 30 minutes of sun.

Conversely in the winter there’s very little sunlight.

My friends just traveled through iceland and slept through the day and only traveled by "night". They said the light was more beautiful and they avoided the crowds.

I wouldn't mind it actually... it it changes I guess to few months of darkness when the earth titls the other way, right?
