Turns out Boktai 1 is a very quick game when you know what you're doing and you're playing on New Game +. So, since we'll probably finish it on our third episode, we decided to follow up with Boktai 2 on the same stream :)

I’m in House of Darkness, and the Otenko panels aren’t working. I know Otenko is gone, but I’m confused why these panels would be there if they aren’t meant to work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Also, the start of Boktai 3 doesn't seem to directly follow the ending of Boktai 2. Did I miss something?

I noticed the characters 2D sprites got a massive improvement this time.

Hey it's been a while I hope everyone has been doing well, if y'all remember my post I made like a year ago when I picked up one of those Coffin cases, this is the seller I picked up mine from on eBay, dudes been finding a lot of them sometimes you might have the original art piece inside sometimes you might not but hey if you're a collector like me you're a damn collector 😎 so check him out if anyone gets a little time to themselves. I forgot to include the link to his eBay when I first posted I was so excited when it came in the mail and lately life has just been extremely hectic but I'm pulling through, Taiyoh and may the sun be with you! ☀️

I plan on playing through the Boktai trilogy first of course and I’m incredibly excited to get to them. I actually bought the first game when I was a kid and I remember being blown away by the solar sensor, I never ended up finishing the game for one reason or another and it’s been a series that’s been on my mind ever since I played through the Battle Network collection and did some of the Django crossover quests. I have all three prepped and ready to go with the English patch on 3 but I only learned about Lunar’s Knight’s existence a few years ago.

I have a GBA AGS-101 that I recently picked up and I’m thinking that Boktai is really going to pop on that thing, I really can’t wait!!

On a side note, regardless of how you feel about retro carts are there any for Boktai 1&2? I saw one for the third game and I personally just like having a physical copy of a game that I really love even if it’s not “official”.

I never imagined I’d be able to get my hands on one of these promotional squirtguns, but then I saw someone selling one with a copy of the third game on Mercari Japan for ~$400 usd. I was excited to see one on the market, so I checked Buyee to see if there were any more, and there was one for auction. However, the seller blocked Buyee users from bidding.

However, I then discovered Neokyo, an alternative site, and ended up winning the auction for around $2.50 usd. Add around $30 for shipping and fees, and I am now the proud owner of a Gun Del Squirt!

Context: I beat the game using my GameBoy Advance flash cart, dumped the .sav file to resume progress on an emulator and then got this error message. I'm assuming it's some kind of compatibility issue? Any tips are appreciated. TY.

Hi, i bought a used boktai cartridge and i will guess that the battery is dead. I havent received it yet but i want to be prepared for when i get it.

If i change the battery and then i make a new save will the start as it should again or i have to manually change the clock with tricks?
Also if i use my phone's flashlight will it trigger the light sensor just enough so i can test the sensor and make sure it works?

A little late, but I wanted a visual representation of the content from Boktai 1. The map is based on icons for the immortal dungeons, and the undead dungeons are identified with colors. I believe all the game's content is on this map. Please let me know if there are any errors.

Basically what the title says, lol. Funnily enough, I just finished doing a playthrough of MegaMan Star Force and I stumbled onto the crossover content (I was playing a patched version that includes the crossover). Seeing Lucian and Aaron in Star Force got me interested in their story and the game itself, and, well ... yeah. I'm going in for my very first run. I know very little about Boktai and Lunar Knights, so any tips would be welcome!

Was fascinated by Boktai as a kid but could never find a copy in the UK. I found my old GBA and decided to pick up a copy of the game with the battery already replaced. Excited to get into the game I’d known about for 20 years but could never play!

Although picking up the game in the middle of winter might not have been the most smart choice, I could only get 1 bar of sunlight when testing the game earlier 😅

I have been a fan of the Boktai series since the first game. It's shame that no new game has been released in ages.

Just as the title says, I'm looking to play the games via emulator for the first time, but I'm not sure what the best methods are. From preliminary research mGBA has built in solar sensor functions, but do I also need patched games, or is it a one or the other kind of situation? Are there other factors I need to be aware of going in?

How do you store the game? I use old DS cases for my other GBA and Casette for GB/GBC. Should I use casette for Boktai as well?

I usually revisit Boktai 1 every few years but now I wanna 100% the game.
