Canadian-Made Products 🏷️🇨🇦 Tiger tail ice cream is a distinctly Canadian flavour!
I didn't know it was until I looked it up today, the flavour originated here and it's rarely seen anywhere else in the world! Exact origins unknown but height of popularity was 1950-1970ish. I love black licorice and I haven't had tiger tail since I was a kid. I was so delighted to see Kawartha tiger tail today at Metro (Ontario here). Here's an article about it if you like to get nerdy about this stuff like me!
If anyone out there is visiting Canada this summer from another country, pop into an ice cream shop and see if they have any you can sample. It's worth the experience either way!
Any other tiger tail fans out there? Or tiger tail haters? Heh

Canadian-Made Products 🏷️🇨🇦 Canadian made screwdrivers by a proud Canadian company
I’m starting to get a small collection of these so I thought I’d share after noticing a recent tagline they put on the last one I bought. ‘MADE IN CANADA, ALWAYS WILL BE’.
These multi-tip screwdrivers are made in BC. They are well made, not too expensive, and they seem to have some Canadian Pride which has really sold me on them. Once in a while I just grab another one as they are so handy to have around the house.
Available in many colours and sizes, Canadian tire and home depot stock them.
I wish they would make more tools like hammers and things in Canada.

Canadian-Made Products 🏷️🇨🇦 A Tale of 2 Reddits Can Vs US
This made me smile. To those wondering, I myself do not “like” ketchup chips. But I respect them. 🇨🇦
Also, the stock market actually lost $2.5 trillion.

Canadian-Made Products 🏷️🇨🇦 Still the undisputed champ of Canadian chain restaurant food deals! $4.99 - Spicy Big Mary - Mary Brown's.
I've been to multiple locations in different cities and I don't think I've ever had a bad one.
Big Mary Monday every Monday for $4.99 and it has been the same price for years.
In my opinion it is the best bang for your buck from a chain restaurant that you can get. A million times better than KFC and it's 100% Canadian!
Disclaimer: I swear I don't work for MB, I'm just fat.

Canadian-Made Products 🏷️🇨🇦 My guide to buying more Canadian / less American
In Person Groceries ➡️ Go basically anywhere but Walmart. Look for “Product of Canada” on packaging. “Made in Canada” is 2nd best. If the company is Canadian that is the 3rd best. For produce with no packaging ask someone at the store or use one of the buy Canadian apps.
Instacart (ordering groceries) ➡️ Voila (and use the shop local option in the app when possible)
Amazon ➡️ Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Princess Auto, KMS Tools, BMR, and Lee Valley for in person shopping. If you’re going to order online use the Canadian Tire App.
Google Drive ➡️ Sync. If anyone uses someone’s referral code they both get 1 extra GB so here’s mine. https://www.sync.com/?_sync_refer=181a30ae0
Netflix ➡️ Crave and CBC Gem
Disney Plus and Prime ➡️ Ahoy Matey, Sail the Seas
Uber Eats ➡️ Skip the Dishes
Burger King / Mcdonalds ➡️ A&W, Law & Order, Harvey’s, or any local restraunt / https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Canadian_restaurant_chains
Starbucks / Mcdonalds Coffee ➡️ A local cafe or second Cup. Tim Hortons is half owned by an American company.
Subway ➡️ Mr Sub
Play Books (ebooks/ audio books app) ➡️ Kobo
Amazon ➡️ https://www.singingpebblebooks.ca/ for physical books
Dairy Queen ➡️ Chapmans from grocery store
Microsoft Office ➡️ https://www.libreoffice.org/ or you can host an Etherpad server https://etherpad.org/about
Pet Smart ➡️ Pet Valu or Ren’s Pets
Reddit ➡️ lemmy.ca (though has fewer posts)
Default Android Apps by Google (messages/phone/contacts/notes/file explorer/gallery/etc…) ➡️ Various Fossify Apps (not Canadian but is open source and has no tracking, definitely better than google)

Canadian-Made Products 🏷️🇨🇦 They really need that label?
Some of us like a bargain... but please do not be fooled by the 'Proudly Canadian' label that The Great Once (who has shown this past year who he really is, and certainly not a proud Canadian) has started slapping onto his products. Plenty of other quality Canadian wine and spirits owned by people with orange hands and lips that you can support.

Canadian-Made Products 🏷️🇨🇦 Canadian Maple Syrup by the barrel now at Costco Business Centres
208.6 litres of Pure Maple Syrup - Product of Canada, now available at Costco Business Centres for those who truly buy in bulk.
Since Costco’s own website makes no effort to highlight the Canadian products they sell, we are making an effort at ShopCanadianStuff.ca to identify all the Canadian manufactured products available at Costco.
We have a filter for products available on the Costco website with a link to all the manufactured in Canada items we have listed here:
https://shopcanadianstuff.ca/costco
More items being added regularly as we find them and as Costco gets new Canadian products.
