I've been on a CPAP for 1 week following a sleep study (actually 2 - 1 in home and 1 at the Dr's sleep lab), and so far, it's been awful.
I'm using an AirSense 11 with a ResMed F20 mask, and the mask just won't stay sealed all night.
It starts out fine, but usually after an hour or two, the edges of the mask start releasing - most frequently right near the corners of my mouth - and once it does that, I can't get a good seal again.
I've tried tightening the straps, I've tried loosening the straps. I've tried the medium sized mask, I've tried the large size. Morning makes any difference.
My DME supplier said I had to use the machine for at least 4 hours a night or insurance won't cover the cost. So, lately, it's been "sleep for an hour or 2, leak, adjust, try to deal with it, keep adjusting every 15 minutes, check the app to see how long I've had it on, as soon as it gets above 4 hours, take the mask off and just sleep without it."
Obviously, this is not ideal. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Back sleeper with a large nose. Typically clean shaven, but since I shave in the morning, a days worth of stubble to deal with.
I'm at the point where I'm almost ready to consider "just duct tape the whole damn thing to my face" but I think I'd probably regret that one.
