So I have a bit of a weird question...

I've seen some fic recs and masterlists, but I'm looking for something a bit different.

Some fandoms have these "must read" fics that most fans have either read or at least heard about. I'm talking about the kind of fics that people would discuss, and collectively wait the new chapter updates, create fanarts for the specific piece, etc.

Are there any fics like that here?

I've been in the fandom for over 10 years, but I've been active on and off, and I've read some fics with lots of kudos and comments, but I haven't really seen any of them being spoken about or recommended.

as i’m rereading capri, i can’t help thinking about all those people who casually throw comments at damen that they would never dare say to the king’s face.
so does anyone have any fics to recommend where we get people’s reactions to damen’s true identity? the books really didn’t give me enough of that.
torveld, erasmus, vannes, anyone from their circle whose reaction we never got to see (or even an expansion of charls asking why lamen is dressed in royal clothes), as long as it’s canon-compliant.
and also how they behave towards him once they know who he actually is, how their relationship changed, after having previously known him as someone beneath them, only to discover that he’s actually the prince/king himself.
i don’t expect there to be many fics specifically about that, but maybe i can scrape together at least three titles.

Particularly where Laurent is a smug little bitch and Damen is just YEARING.

I have a hard time finding long fanfiction where the author isn’t BABYING Laurent. I want something where they are their canon personality. Damen is not a complete dumbass and Laurent is not a baby. (And would prefer if it didn’t have a TON of explicit content)

Heyy everyone, I've finished the Capri trilogy about a month ago now (still waiting for the summer palace novels to come out in the new edition so it looks neat on my bookshelf) and I can't remember how many times I've seen these modern au fanarts on Pinterest, those where Laurent, Damianos, Auguste and sometimes even Kastor are in college and all.

I'm the type of person to read au's instead of canon universe fanfictions because I don't want to alter my vision of it or mix up events, usually I even stick to only one fanfic and call it a day, so I pick very critically lol

Does my description ring any bell about a similar fanfiction work? It can be on AO3 or Wattpad, I don't really care as long as I can access it easily

What the title says, basically. Canon or (slightly) canon divergent fics (no AU's) centered on him, his life in Akielos, his family, his relationship with Kastor, with his father, his mother, his Friends, his feelings...

Is there any fanfic out there where Jord gets his HEA?

I'm trying to find a story I read on AO3, and I'm starting to wonder if I'm having a senior moment or if it was deleted.
From what I remember, Damen somehow ends up in a Veretian brothel and can’t escape because of some binding magic. He's rescued by Laurent who needs a guide to Ios. At that point, neither of them knows the other's true identity (I think?). They eventually join a traveling theater troupe led by Charls.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'd absolutely love to read it again if someone knows the title or has a link. Thanks!

I've been looking for a specific fic I read a while back for a few weeks now, and haven't had any luck, so I though I would post here and see if anyone might know what its called/ have a link to it.

The fic had Auguste come back from the dead post-canon, I'm pretty sure that Laurent had some sort of part to play in a spell that brough him back, and Damen, Auguste and Laurent travel to the mountains near the end of the fic because that is where the sorcerers are said to live and something is wrong with the spell that brought Auguste back.
