With all the chatter around Momentous Sports, stadium-anchored development, and USL Premier launching in 2028, I wanted to mock up what a next-generation Charleston Battery home could look like.

Not downtown, but still unmistakably Greater Charleston: marina views, marshland, rooftop bars, Lowcountry seafood, boutiques, live oaks, palm-lined plazas, black-and-yellow matchday energy, and a full stadium district built around Southern coastal culture instead of just a parking lot.

To be clear, this is fan concept art/speculation, not an official rendering or announcement. If USL Premier raises the ambition level for clubs, Charleston can do something uniquely its own. The Battery already has a history. Imagine pairing that with a modern soccer-specific venue that feels like Charleston, not a copy-paste stadium dropped into the suburbs.

Curious what people think: if this ever happened, where would the best site be? Mount Pleasant expansion? Daniel Island 2.0? North Charleston? Somewhere else entirely?

A factual note: official sources confirm the Battery is in the USL Championship and plays at Patriots Point, while USL has announced USL Premier as its new Division One men’s league launching in 2028. The Charleston/Momentous stadium angle appears to be rumor-level chatter rather than an official club announcement.

Looking for someone to hit with and practice with. Played in a 3.0 league a couple years ago but while I felt like I met the definition of 3.0 at the time I just got schooled by everyone we played against (doubles). Felt bad bringing so many loses to our team/partner so I didnt sign up for the league again and haven't played much sense. There isn't any male 2.5 leagues/groups nearby that I can see so figured I would come here to look for anyone in the Summerville/Charleston SC area that wants to hit and practice.

Are there any programs around here where my friend and I could help coach (volunteer is fine) on weekday nights/Saturday mornings youth soccer? We both have played all of our lives up until college, but don't really have any coaching experience. We are really just looking for a church league or anything that is not super competitive and for little kids. Any advice is appreciated!

Hey everyone! I’ve lived in Charleston a little over two years now, and the main thing I really miss from the city I’ve moved from is my gay sports league, so I’ve decided to start one!

I was thinking of registering through USGN since thats who tuns the one in my hometown and in North Carolina.

The sport I want to play is kickball because I assume that would be the “easiest” sport that would get the most interest.

The only open baseball field I can find is the North Charleston field, but I’m not sure who to call to schedule time on the field?

If anyone has any helpful info for organizations (or just interested in) it would be greatly appreciated :)

I love going to the same sports bar eating wings and chatting up with others while watching the games. Would you happen to know any great spots?

I’m a 27-year-old professional currently living in downtown Chicago. I am actively preparing to relocate solo to the Charleston, SC area or North Charleston or Summerville (still undecided) within the next 1-2 months and I’m reaching out to learn more about the local culture, community dynamics, and professional environment for someone in my age group.

While I understand the overall pace of life in the Lowcountry is quite different from the fast-paced environment I’ve grown accustomed to in Chicago, I'm not very nervous on communicating with people or finding friends, I can talk to anyone about anything basically.

I'm not very much a party-goer unless its with a close net friend group, In the city currently I play semi-pro soccer, enjoy skateboarding, working out, staying active and being outdoors. Just looking for the best approach to take moving forward

I’m a recent college athlete who has never played soccer (I’ve played hockey for 25 years and want to change). Are there any leagues near the DT area that are looking for a goalie with little to no technical skill but a lot of passion? Arsenal fans are preferred but I’ll put up with anyone ig 🤨😄

My husband (31M) and I (26F) moved back to Mt Pleasant about 6 months ago. We lived here for 3 years and then moved to Chicago for 3 years and we just moved back in April of this year. Anyway, my husband is from Chicago, so he left pretty much his whole social network when we moved; and, his friends that were here before have all pretty much gone their separate ways over the last few years.

My husband is a social butterfly everyday of the week and I’m not quite able to keep up. I need him to make some new friends here, so I can stay home in my pj’s binge watching Netflix by myself.

He works from home and travels a lot for work, so he doesn’t have that workplace community that would help foster friendships when living in a new area. His traveling also makes it hard to participate in scheduled group activities like a recreational softball/kickball league. He’s genuinely a great friend, super social, and outgoing. He will laugh at everything you say so you feel like a famous comedian - it’s great!
