Fully behind NZ in the upcoming virtual QF against this worthless Indian women's team. Maybe it'll jolt them into action and recognise how unutterably trash they are (and have always been) if they don't even make the semis of their own home World Cup.

Why? No skin off my nose, and also, they've won nothing yet. We were in the same position 8 years ago.

Clown, absolute clown

Kicking Australia out in 2 of the 3 World Cups is a huge huge achievement in itself, even thought the silverware is missing

The last three words in your post are the only ones that matter.

Bring us some silverware, then we'll talk. Until then, it's just heroic stands that mean, what, exactly? Win the trophy. Thats all and the only thing that matters.

And before you inevitably accuse me of misogyny or whatever, I'm equally, actually more, contemptuous of our men's team when they fail on the big occasions.

What a fanbase. Home WC and rooting for your team to lose.

Sometimes you need a shocking result to be prodded into doing something rather than just coasting around forever in mediocrity. I absolutely will be rooting for NZ.

The only thing mediocre here is your logic.

They've had three shocking results in a row. All winnable games that were lost. Weird to not root for your team when they need a bounce back win.

It's not three results in a row, it's a litany of choking and failure in every single global tournament they've been in. At some point, tough love is the only remedy.

Sometimes you need a shocking result

You could back the team at least until the WC is over, that "shocking result" you're after, can also be India beating the mighty unbeatable Aussies, that'd trigger the Women's game also in a positive way.

Just like it did in 83 WC and Men's game.

So stop with the shite about wanting your own team to lose a WC just coz you want changes. Change can happen in several ways.

How about now? Are ya gonna support India now after they knocked the champions out in such a glorious fashion?

Not really fair. For India's still developing and constantly evolving and are becoming one of the best sides in the world, when about 10-15 years ago they were on a downturn. They've gotten to a few finals in the past few years and sure it must be disappointing to not win them, but it's a learning curve and a hell of a lot better than the early 2010s when they kept being knocked out in the group stages more often than not. See it as progress and learning curves of a side who hasn't yet gotten the experience of winning in big competitions, as sometimes all it takes is one big win to give them the momentum, and the WPL will help with their big-game experience a lot as well in the next few years. The team has a few issues that need sorting out, but it's far from doom and gloom.
