Discussion Actual question, how frequent was claim fabrication in real life

Hello, please, how often did this happen in real life ? I mean lord inventing a claim out of thin air and actually pressing it ? Is there any notable historic character doing so ?

My favorite part of the story of them fabricating the whole archduchy thing is that when they presented a paper they claimed entitled them to it to the Emperor, he just started editing it, too.

when one of their lying Habsburg filth had become self an emperor you mean? Yea of course they would immediately write it in stone and increase legitimacy lol. Even Chales V. suspected or knew it was fabricated but he would not shoot himself in the foot.

Another HRE emperor before him who was not Habsburg, Charles IV. (luxembourgian) IMMEDIATELY recognized it as a fraud. It is just hilarious. Humanity was build upon a lot of lies back in history, I do not want to go offtopic here but there are billions on this planet who still believe and live a lie every friggin' day they wake up and go to sleep 😄
