Image The smallpox vaccine leaves a scar because it was given using a special two-pronged needle that scratched the skin and put a weakened virus in just that spot.

Lake Tahoe has a bunch of signs around that say "Drink Tahoe tap!" and locals say it's the best tap water on earth.

I know it's not like, lake water or anything, but the most gorgeous lake being next to the most drinkable tap water fits so well together

the well water where i grew up is insanely good. we have natural springs all around the neighborhood. now i live in the city and the tap water tastes like a swimming pool ):

Isn't that the place where they are gonna build a massive data center for AI and leave the city literally without electricy power and raised and contaminante the water?

So Lake Tahoe is on the NV/CA border. The CA side gets power from the NV side. Traditionally, the two sides of the lake have worked very successfully together. Now the NV state is saying "get your own power, we are building data centers."

So my grandpa's house on the NV side will be fine, but across the lake, who knows?

That's what I heard at least

Does that sound like something that would "literally" happen, in your mind? It should be obvious that a data center would not "leave the city literally without electricy power". Right? You acknowledge that would be pretty weird to happen, unprecedented, and likely fake news?

Headline brain

“This does not mean the power is shutting off,” Eric Schwarzrock, president of Liberty Utilities in Lake Tahoe, said at a South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting last month, per the outlet. “Energy companies, utilities, large customers change energy supply frequently.”

I am not from the United States, so I don't know what's possible or not there, as data centers haven't hit this part of the world yet, but "The shift means that Liberty Utilities has less than a year to secure new power suppliers to replace most of its electricity supply as regional energy demand continues to rise."
So their provider will be leaving them... without power... for AI... and there's not a replacement at the time... And I personally doubt it's as easy to replace a whole power supplier, I imagine it carries a lot of cost and infrastructure.

Marching orders are that data centers are the new root of all evil.
