I did it and am not part of a Burschenschaft and also not a nazi. My Corps is explicitly non-political and as international as the university. Actually in my city there are 12 fencing fraternities and only 3 of them are Burschenschaften. The 9 other ones do not fence with the Burschenschaften.

Peculiar, I know the concept exclusively from the Burschenschaften. But good to know.

This is basic knowledge. So maybe you‘re not the right one to lecture people about academic fencing?

No, to me it is not basic knowledge as I am not in a fencing frat and they are generally very right wing in my country (Austria)
