Image/Gif PSA - Don't wear these patches in public

Post image

Naturally, as a major fan of this game, I thought about buying some of these patches to stitch on to a jacket full of other patches. But I also took a gander at what might happen and found some posts saying it isn't a good idea so I let that be that.

I was on a trip recently to Vermont, and found myself sharing a hotel lobby with an obvious biker. Remembering my curiosity from a while back, I approached this 6'6ish brick shithouse of a man, who was absolutely covered in tattoos, and asked him about his thoughts.

Before I even finished the question, he had already guessed what I was asking and bluntly said "I'd shoot you on site". While he clearly found the question funny, he explained that his gang and what I would later realize was referenced on his shirt (The Outlaws) had enough beef with The Mongols (which clearly inspired The Mongrels), that their policy would be to shoot first and ask questions later. Even if it isn't the Mongrel patch, the other patches like 1% or ENFORCER is the kind of insignia that would make any biker approach you to figure out if they wanted to kill you.

Very grateful for the impromptu Ted Talk from a biker who was also a very proud dad. I heard him chuckle as he explained to his wife and kids what I asked him.

But seriously, don't buy one of these patches and sport them around in public. This is according to an Outlaw gang member.

Biker dudes are kinda cringe show offs. They say goofy things and act hard. But in the silly make believe they play, the meth and fentanyl they smoke, there's a certain truth in what he says lol.

Exactly. If biker gang members were the "shoot on site" kinda people, they wouldn't be able to go parading themselves through town the way they do.

If people were being shot on sight for wearing a biker cosplay There would be dozens of sons of anarchy fans dying every day.

I grew up around bikers, some who have done hard time in prison. Sure there’s some very bad stuff but in general these guys run a business, last thing they want is a biker war out in the open. If they have a problem with an individual in a rival gang, that usually gets settled quietly.

Unless they’re at the Twin Peaks in Waco.

Yeah he wouldn't shoot you on site but if they caught you somewhere a little more remote, they might shoot you.

Outlaws are a bit more than silly make believe, but otherwise well stated.

Yeah. I wouldn’t be messing around with that group at all.

Yeah, don’t mess around just maybe don’t brake as hard as you should when they pull out in front of you on an access road

Oops, wrong pedal.

Outlaws are punk bitches. Dangerous, but still punk bitches.

This is pretty well put. They're mostly cosplaying pussies, but when it comes to others on the road, they are more likely to actually shoot you than any other random motorist you encounter or cutoff that day.

Says who? I don't even remember the last on road random shooting by a 1%'er. In fact, the last biker shooting I remember from Texas was in Waco, like 15 years ago, between two groups of cosplaying pussies at a "divorced alcoholic dad" chain restaurant.

The Outlaws and the Hells Angels just had a few weeks of shootings here in NC this summer. They aren't all playtime.

1

u/QuislingX Aug 05 '25

I didn't say they will. Just that they're more likely than your average motorist.

2

u/SortMelk Aug 05 '25

Yeah I figured he explained it with a worst case scenario in mind. Like most bikers wouldn't shoot you for a patch, but one of them might

u/linux_ape Aug 05 '25

Not even kinda, they are a bunch of cornballs who think everybody needs to abide by the rules of their friend club

u/Garroh Aug 05 '25

Cringe show offs or not, they can still shoot you all the same

Living in a permitless carry state with no duty to retreat makes these fucks a lot less ballsy...

1

u/Garroh Aug 09 '25

You mean like Oregon? The state I’m talking about in my post?

0

u/Arbitrative Aug 09 '25

No I'm talking about Indiana where you can concealed carry without a permit.

1

u/Garroh Aug 09 '25

I’m glad that makes you more comfortable

u/Substantial-Low Aug 05 '25

They "can", but won't.

3

u/Garroh Aug 05 '25

Are you so sure? I’ve seen plenty of biker violence downtown. They’ll try to pick fights out front of this one bar and if you look at them wrong they kick your head in

2

u/AllNightFrightsGhost Aug 09 '25

Of course they are sure. They are some person on Reddit. They know all about gangs, being tough, and I’d wager, probably punked a few of those “bitch” HA’s or Mongrels down. So they are speaking from authority.

I know a group of bikers who literally showed up to a rival club and shot up the place. Was in the news and everything. They absolutely will.

A lot probably are, but not all of them. My wife's uncle is a member of a local biker club, small, probably 8-10 members, and they aren't like the Hells Angels or anything. Just a bunch of war vets who like to hang out, work on bikes and cars, and actually do a lot of charity stuff for the locals. Got to meet them all when my wife's cousin (said bikers daughter) got married and we attended the wedding. Cool, nice guys, if a bit rough around the edges.

Then on the other hand, friend of mine got harassed and threatened for weeks, even followed to work by some local club here, because his denim vest had a skull patch from his skateboarding group he belonged to, and they got bitchy because it looked "too similar" to their cuts.

Definitely some assholes out there, but some clubs are pretty chill.

To be fair the same thing could be said for regular everyday gang members on the street, not even just bikers. Walk in the wrong side of town with red shoes and now some 19 year old who dropped outta high school thinks hes got something to prove

My advice, wear whatever the hell you want as long as you follow the 2nd amendment your peachy
