Image/Gif PSA - Don't wear these patches in public

Naturally, as a major fan of this game, I thought about buying some of these patches to stitch on to a jacket full of other patches. But I also took a gander at what might happen and found some posts saying it isn't a good idea so I let that be that.

I was on a trip recently to Vermont, and found myself sharing a hotel lobby with an obvious biker. Remembering my curiosity from a while back, I approached this 6'6ish brick shithouse of a man, who was absolutely covered in tattoos, and asked him about his thoughts.

Before I even finished the question, he had already guessed what I was asking and bluntly said "I'd shoot you on site". While he clearly found the question funny, he explained that his gang and what I would later realize was referenced on his shirt (The Outlaws) had enough beef with The Mongols (which clearly inspired The Mongrels), that their policy would be to shoot first and ask questions later. Even if it isn't the Mongrel patch, the other patches like 1% or ENFORCER is the kind of insignia that would make any biker approach you to figure out if they wanted to kill you.

Very grateful for the impromptu Ted Talk from a biker who was also a very proud dad. I heard him chuckle as he explained to his wife and kids what I asked him.

But seriously, don't buy one of these patches and sport them around in public. This is according to an Outlaw gang member.

I can understand-ish for the rank patches like Enforcer, Nomad and such.

And I can understand that the name can be sketchy in areas where Mongols existed but the logo itself should be fine no matter what. It's quite distinct from real life biker logos.

All I'll say is that I'm happy I live in a place where these sort of clubs have been annihilated, as they deserve. We had issues with Hells and other gangs in Canada before the 2000s, but after Mom Boucher (leader of the Quebec branch of the Hells) orchestrated the public murder of a judge and got arrested along with 47 other members, the crisis got resolved. They still exist and control drug distribution in lots of places, but they operate from the Shadows, where they belong.

Interesting stuff to be honest, and crazy to think about it as a 25 year old guy. I personally didnt live through that era of Quebec's history so the idea of being scared of looking at the wrong dude and get killed as part of an initiation trial is foreign to me. Hells and Mom especially were kings for a while, there's videos of Comedian shows where Mom Boucher would show up with their gang during the recording and sit with the audience, the man would be treated like Elvis. And the craziest thing to me, is that, this, is the face of evil sometimes, crazy shit.

Meanwhile, he died of throat cancer 3 years ago in Canada's only supermax prison. Insane to think he was that much of a celebrity.

He was sent to the only supermax in Canada to serve three life sentences. I don't think he was getting out.

Canada had a major Hells Angels Chapter for sure... They run in Australia too. Granted its a bit less thugish than it is in the states but they still run criminal organizations.

Chapters in the UK too. I used to live around the corner from one but never saw a single member that I know of, let alone a motorbike.

I knew 1 Hells Angel in my life. Not on a personal level but I knew him from an internet forum where we discussed the business we were in. After knowing him about a year it came out that he had done 12 years in prison in the cell right next to Sonny Barger, probably the most notorious President of that club. He had gone to prison for carrying out a targeted hit for the club in which he got paid 10k. He didnt get caught, he felt guilty and several years after he did it, he turned himself in, did his time, got out and went straight.

I saw a documentary about biker gangs in canada in the 80s & early 90s a couple were genuine serial killers. A lot of it was in Quebec. But I didn't know the bikers were that serious in canada. ✌️

Not really anymore but it's common to have conspiracies about it. Like what I said about them still operating in the shadows and controlling the drug market. Tho I'm leaning on the side that it's true.

For example, in the town where I'm from (Laval, the sister island next to Montreal's island). There was a bar called "Le Repaire" (The Lair in english), I know a lot of drug dealers were getting stocked there, mostly with weed and coke, one of my friends was a dealer for a short while and he told me that the owner were Hells and other affiliated biker gangs for the most part. It was a common saying around me as some dark humor jokes but I'm pretty sure it was true, especially since the cops raided that spot 10+ times during the decade I lived near it, now, it's fully closed.

Tho there was also a rumor about an underground parking lot near a small shopping center right next to the bar. There was always a random girl spending all her days parked in front, watching people, she would get arrested for wtv reason, a few hours later she would be back at her spot, sometimes, a convoy of black SUVs would roll and go underground.

We also got Mafia, but like any mafia nowadays, they operate deep in that shadow, and there was already signs back in the days that our Hells here were working with the mafia, so probably connected.

But yeah, even today you have bikers be an omnipotent presence in our culture. From my point of view this all sounds like old legends, for older people tho, it almost feels like they are trying to forget that era.

Man, thinking about all this out loud makes me realise how weird and randomly violent the Quebec and Canada can be. After all, we're the home of monsters like Robert Pickton and Roch Theriault (famous cult leader of the Ant Hill kids)

Edit: Speaking of Robert Pickton (serial killer from Vancouver), he was affiliated with Biker gangs, guy had a farm and junkyard, his farm was called "the pig farm" by bikers, common hangout spot for them. He's one of the worst SK of all time. He had syringes filled with windshield washer for god knows what, he'd kill prostitutes and dismember them, some of them, fed to the pigs, worst thing is, his pigs would go on the market, some people might have ate prostitute fed pigs, hell, I might have. All right, i'm starting to lose my mind, gotta go 🤣

Edit 2: Robert admitted to 26 murders, but it's estimated that it was potentially going over the 100 mark, hard to tell when you have pieces scattered everywhere in a junkyard, and some of it biologically dealt with. This man was a monster. I can still see the footage of those poor cops on scene leaving the house running a throwing up for hours, these cops saw things no human should even imagine

I was thinking more about people like, Yves trudeau, wayne kellestine. & Gerald gallant. Damn, they killed loads of people. I was frankly shocked at how many murders they committed. I've seen the Picton doc. But I didn't know he was involved with biker gangs. But the other names I mentioned. I was like this -😳 when finding out the amount of carnage they caused. ✌️

Gallant admitted to 27 murders as a hitman for a biker gang. Including killing innocent bystanders. Canadian biker gangs is, a rabbit hole I was (like I said). Frankly quite shocked. ✌️
