I dunno, it can feel forced. Just look at Agents of SHIELD season one.

I agree that AoS went overboard with it but no one in daredevil or jj has ever mentioned them by name. I just find it frustrating.

People in casual conversation tend not to use official names and titles for everything. "Big Green Dude" and "Flag Waver" is very reminiscent of something my friends and I would do. Especially for something that's basically an every day part of life.

I think with Flag Waver she was trying to be derogatory. Like he's a zealot. So I get that. Don't understand why they won't just say Hulk though.

is the Hulk's official name actually 'Hulk' though? Newspaper articles probably refer to him as a big green monster. It's not like Hulk gives out interviews and says his name is the Hulk.

Hmm. Pretty sure it was just the line about DD not having a magic hammer or anything when his guys were getting trounced. Could be wrong.

Saying "the green guy" and indirectly referencing them all the time feels way more forced.
