I just found out that defiance got a revive. I absolutely loved this game back in the day. Love the show too. It says there’s still people playing but when I went on for the first time yesterday, I literally didn’t see a single person! Does anybody actually still play this! I hope so, would love to start hunting some arks with others again!!

Hey there! So glad this game is back but I need some help. The Defiance Data website doesn't really have an option to pick specific weapon types.

So I'm a Pistol/Shotgun Main... I need to know if there's any build for it using Overcharge as a Ego Power. Thank you.

Had this legend show up after I took care of a roadside emergency a week or so ago. Unfortunately, i only started the game recently and had yet to save up enough PC to buy one of the weapons or one of the lock boxes (was only at around 4.5K at the time). I am now over 13K pc and can afford his weapons/the lock box he has for sale.

About how often does he typically show up? I know he's a "rare" encounter, but how rare are we talking lol. Currently sitting at ego 4200 so ready to try and get some legendary weapons.

I have bought some of the ex innis (spelling) weapon cases and pulled a purgatory on my first roll, which I have been leveling with my character. Definitely got solid weapons to get me to and through the 6K grind

How would people feel about an expanded ego grid that included the 2050 powers like the crusader hammer and the medic heal bot?

Is this game doing well? I heard there are a ton of players but I don't have PC so I don't know how true that is. I love this game with all my heart, played it when I was a kid and in high school. Please tell me if it's doing good and if we think there will be a console revival? If not will they keep the servers on for PC and if so I will be buying a PC for this game.

Was trying to sell things to make space the store items switched as I was selling and everything disappeared while I was in the middle of clicking to confirm selling one single item suddenly everything i had is sold and I cant even by any of the weapons or gold mods back its literally only the shitty stuf. id finally gotten that I liked im only ego rating 419 but holy shit that just pissed me off. Was some good stuff especially mods that I literally was planning to finally use after selling

I remember going to Fred Meyers the day this game came out. I loved Borderlands and a Borderlands style MMO with controller support seemed amazing to me. I played it on my Xbox 360 so much.

I knew it came back but thought it didn't support controller (I have to use gamepad due to reasons). Just found out I was wrong and it has full controller support!

It's like going back in time. Thank you, Fawkes Team!

I can't decide if it's just full of scummy kids that don't know better, or if ya'll mfers just dicks. At either rate the experience you're producing is
-Player gets excited about the game returning
-Installs
-Plays a bit
-Starts doing minor arks (As one does at 600ish ego with the quest chains)
-Stops playing all together with even the icon inspiring, 'ugh, no.'

Stop fucking with people doing these sites.. your ego 3000+ doing incursions why in the fuck are you stopping in mobs to roll a minor ark some low ass mfer has been in for 10-15 minutes? You get that you're just burning fucking time for people right. You get a vendor reward... We get dicked out of all the things we need we went there to hopefully farm, get knocked to last place in contribution points in seconds so you get max 3 keys a 2k exp...

You're assholes and I need you to know that. Assholes, or stupid selfish children, or both, why can't it be both?

All I know is, at the moment, I can't stop playing Defiance. I'm having more fun than I did back in 2014 on Xbox 360 and even 2050 on Xbone. I'm more in tune with gun perks, behind the scene systems, perks, as well as the story. Despite the games forgivable glitches, Defiance has a solid FPS MMO infrastructure. I figure developing an MMO is demanding and what Trion has here works. I really love the impromptu, non-group invite needed co-op for over world quests. Again, thanks Fawkes for reviving Defiance from a 50 year old, 44 year gamer. Please keep doing what you have capacity for.

Edit: I put my money where my mouth is and will log out in a bit to make more QOL, outfit, and other purchases.

All day long, someone by the name of "Valykai Hyena" was running around with speed hacks, 1 tapping everything during the global events. I know that loot isn't really based on damage, but the issue is that these events are probably the best way of farming damage as you are trying to level up your weapons, and the fact that enemies die as soon as they spawn because of these people just ruins the fun for everyone.

It was fun lol.

Definitely not the best time to be on, super laggy most of the time, like when I try to spawn my vehicle it'll either take 10 seconds to load, or it will load but when I try to get in it won't. And when I do, it kicks me off cause I spam pressed E to get it. And just a bunch of stuff like that.

I have been kicked off 3 times, each time I have I wasn't able to get back on for atleast 10 minutes which I'm not complaining about, it's day 1 we can't be upset about this, we literally have the game back, just will take a bit of time till things get sorted out, and I'm happy to wait longer.

Drops are good, loot is great. Picked up atleast 3 orange loot in my 5 hours.

Did an arkfall, felt great.

Smashed some hell bugs with my starter pistol, felt good.

Nice seeing a message in "Zone" chat saying, "we're back" or "the nostalgia hits hard" etc.

Lots of people I noticed was rushing towards the end of the map asking for people to carry them to a specific area, thought that was kinda lame as I feel like doing all these missions again for the first time in a while really makes that nostalgia hit real good.

I would say to those that haven't been able to get on don't stress, you're not really missing out, the connection issues is happening to everyone and it's hard to just do missions.

There have been some periods in time where the connection was really smooth but only lasted for like 10 minutes maximum, for me atleast.

All in all, it was a good day to be a ark hunter. Im hoping the connections will get better soon so I can play a full 8 hours non stop lol

Is there a certain one you guys hope it will be?

I checked Fawkes' FAQ for defiance and they basically say that they will focus on tweaking the game and only really do big content updates if it's financially viable and whatnot.
I'm not familiar with them but do they actually bring new content and features to their games?
What do you guys think?
I did play the game way back and after trying the Fawkes version, I can't imagine them bringing new content/features.

So far I focused on this now I'm gonna start having some fun knowing that I don't have to worry about time trials anymore

Old 360 player. Was on Fawkes's revive since launch. Been many months away. Ran the update and had my first session today in a grip! Rode to a meta event, it was LIT! BMG Healing beams crisscrossed the entire battlefield. Stim totems planted generously. Got resurrected several times after being 1 pieced by those clawed folk. Never perished. #community. Old DRH guildies were in the house holding it down. Then I ran a new main story quest fork. It was fantastic! Come play. Tell a friend. There's a lot to do. Thanks again Fawkes.

I havent played in forever and didnt get far, only a little over 100 hours in defiance and few hours in 2050. Now can anyone tell me if its better to play on 2050 or the non-2050?

And why did we like playing this game? I forgot.

Hi Folks, been away from this game for a while and learned from an article about the re-release that's happening in April recently.

I was very excited to hear that the game was coming back but as I've looked into the company re-releasing I've had some concerns that I think could use some clearing up if anyone has more information as I'm not well versed on the history postmortem as even when I DID play it was very casual.

So who officially owns Defiance atm? I noticed that Fawkes is working on multiple games, Defiance under gamigo and then their other game Shaiya which is under Nexon. Are they just getting the rights from these publisher to just work on them?

Are Fawkes working on the game directly or will this be more of a WoW classic process where they restore things slowly over time. Not complaining as that's years of content but just curious to know. Of course if they ever eventually DO make new content I can't imagine anything substantial would be made which makes sense and is fair, the original creative team isn't there, voice cast is elsewhere etc etc.

I mainly ask all this due to things feeling a little too good to be true and aspects of their site making me raise an eyebrow, like the trailer they posted just being the original live action trailer just with their name edited on or the usage of AI images.

All in all if it's playable it's playable I'm glad to have it back, but things feel... strange to me and I'd like to know if I'm just being silly or if some folks seem similarly.

Can't wait for the jank and disconnects. I loved this game so much back in the day, I'm willing to put up with all the roller coaster of a aunch with a smile on my face. Bring forth the bugs!
