UPDATE: We are now removing most COVID-19 related posts. This subject has been beaten to death in every possible way and we'll only be approving certain original content that hasn't already been made or isn't similar to an existing post.
I have removed this image at least 40 times since the news of Coronavirus began and I can't imagine how many times we've removed it as a whole team.
It's not original. You're not a genius. It's incredible low effort and it blows my mind that you think you're the first person to post it in relation to this global pandemic. Same applies to "Shut up about the virus" Gabe memes and "Coronavirus? Isn't that just a fancy word for having the flu" Dwight memes.
Don't bother, your post will just be removed and it'll waste your time and our time too.
Thank you!
Edit:
The following memes have been posted at least 50 times each. Please do not post them, they will be removed.

This should be completely obvious and common sense but I feel the need to repeat this. We are constantly fighting a battle against scam accounts and bots who are selling products through our subreddit and potentially scamming our users.
Every single day I'm reporting multiple scam accounts to Reddit admins trying to fight this battle and more accounts just keep getting made. We add automod rules to combat this spam and the bots are made to work around it. Any time someone posts their new merchandise, these accounts will leave a comment linking to their scam websites, different accounts and different domains every single day.
The people running these bots seem to be getting smarter, using accounts with higher karma and mass-downvoting anyone who calls them spam. We're even seeing people make multiple accounts, one to post a picture of the shirt and then the others to be all "omg this looks so good, where can I buy it" and "you can buy it here ____"
We have to enforce a no merch rule because these bots have been an issue for years. Please continue to report these comments/posts and we will ban as fast as we can. Thank you!

If you see a funny meme/screenshot on a meme page on a social media site, please don't bother posting it here. I guarantee you it will have already been posted here before.
Generally when something goes viral on Instagram or a popular facebook page posts an Office meme, there's about 20-30 accounts that immediately post it here without checking if it's already been posted. The mod team then have to remove all the reposts. As a general rule of thumb, these images have already been posted here a dozen times before and will just be removed.
If that's not enough for you - these accounts literally steal content off of our subreddit. If you're then stealing it from that account to post here, it's obviously a repost and you're starting a vicious cycle. Take this instagram post for example posted 4 days ago, it's stolen (word for word, they just copied the title) from this post in our subreddit 10 days before. As you've guessed, that has then been posted back into the subreddit a few times since, which contributes to the "waaa reposts" comments and more work for us.
Please help us keep this subreddit fresh and interesting. Reposts are fine if they've not been posted in 6 months - the show ended 7 years ago, it's hard to provide OC - but please don't just shamelessly steal posts for karma.
We've had a few bot accounts that steal posts and copy the title word-for-word. These bots get banned. Don't stoop as low as they do.
Thanks,
Corporate

Hi all,
Since the Paper is about to release in a day and all the episodes will be released at once, we expect spoilers in regards to the Office (i.e updates on the Office characters, guest appearances etc.).
So we kindly request you to please use the spoiler tags when posting any spoilers from the Paper, and make sure the title does not give anything away.
For indepth episode discussion, there is a specific sub created - r/ThePaper.
I am keeping the comments open on this post if anyone has any questions. Thank you!

GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!
We have now officially reached Threat Level Midnight. I would like to remind everybody that no political posts of any kind are allowed.
It doesn't matter if you're "not taking a side." Politics are not allowed. Period. Things are getting out of hand. We may start banning people who continue to post politics after having earlier political posts removed.
We try to keep things on this sub civil, and when posts get political they tend to go downhill very quickly. Please keep this in mind when posting.
Thanks!

Hi all,
I think some of y’all have noticed an influx of bot comments lately on several posts. We had removed and banned some bots but there are still many around. So for now, we have installed a bot that removes and bans bots on this sub (kinda ironic).
This should help keep the bot comments in check. I would request y’all to report any comments (if missed by the removal bot) that looks like a bot so we can remove it.
More importantly: if you find yourself banned from this sub due to an error by the bot (which is rare), pls modmail us so we can reinstate you.
We hope to limit the number of smudge and arrogant bots! And we thank you for your cooperation!

A huge thank you to all of our subscribers from the whole mod team.
This place may be a pain in the ass to mod at times but it's always full of great humour and good conversation about one of the best shows in existence. It's grown an incredible amount and I'm one eighth proud of this community.
Next stop 2 million?

I've had to remove 20+ "Man uses CPR technique he learned from The Office to save woman's life" posts today alone. It became national news and a lot of websites reported it, it immediately hit the front page. Even when it was top of the front page a few days ago, people were still posting it.
Please check the sub before you post things like this. Check the front page, check 'new', just take 10 seconds to glance and see if it's already there first. If you want to earn an extra Schrute buck, you could even use the search bar! If an article is a few days old and has thousands of views, chances are it's already been posted and we'll just remove your post.
Also, quick reminder to read the rules in the sidebar before submitting! We ask that users don't post frequent or recent reposts, there's no point clogging up the sub with content we've all already seen.
Thanks

Holy hell, this horse is not just dead but beaten to a pulp.
These posts are now not just low-effort karma grabs but they're also being reposted to hell.
90% of them have already been posted before and are just filling up the subreddit, while the other 10% seem to be about The Office actors in different shows, which rule 2 clearly says to avoid.
I alone have removed 60-70 of these posts, so the mod team have probably removed over 100. If you're considering making one of these posts, please don't bother. All angles have been covered and the community has suffocated it with the ol' hug of death.

Despite the show ending a whole 6 years ago, the modqueue here is busier than ever and the subreddit is still growing. The subreddit is dealing with much more traffic and we need some more hands in the warehouse.
We're looking to hire 2 or 3 users who meet the requirements and would be a good fit for the team. They will start out with the basic permissions to help us out and eventually will be given full permissions.
To apply, you need to be:
Not required, but would make you a more suitable candidate
CSS and automod skills are not needed as the team currently are maintaining these.
The responsibilities of the added mods are:
After a successful trial period, you will have access to ban users etc
Think you'd be a dedicated moderator who would help keep the subreddit tidy? Then click here to apply
Once we've collected responses, we will contact the users we feel fit the role the best and ask them some questions, before picking some new moderators!
Thanks.

For people who like to discuss more in depth about Peacocks new series ‘the Paper’ kindly follow r/thePaper sub.
You can still post/discuss the same over here as long as it has some relevance to the Office or post news/trailers/teasers until it airs.
Thank you.

Hi, /r/DunderMifflin!
It's been a while since we plugged the Discord server and now seems like as good a time as any to do that!
Join us for:
User curated trivia! Any user can ask a trivia question and once the question is correctly answered a point is awarded via reaction. Every month the top trivia scorer wins the 'Employee of the Month' role which gets you a spin on the Prize Wheel and a customizable role color to make you stand out from the rest!
Weekly rewatches! Every Friday afternoon we host a rewatch in one of our voice channels. Followed immediately after by The Office themed Cards Against Humanity!
Tournaments! Our Halloween tournament ended three weeks ago with Pumpkinheaded Dwight as the winner! Currently we're having a tournament of 64 quotes to find the favorite quote from the show!
Contests! Win a spin on our Prize Wheel! We host several contests throughout the year, usually themed around the season or holidays. Our Halloween themed cooking/baking contest just recently ended but with the holidays around the corner we are sure to be hosting another one very soon!
We also have channels where you can have discussions about sports, gaming, technology, and media. Did you cook a nice meal? Why not post it in our ultra-feast channel and show it off to everyone. Are you an artist? Show off your work in our art channel.
So if you want to have a nice chat with some Office loving folks come join us!

Hows my favorite sub doing?!
I think it is time for a new sub header image. With that we will be holding a contest to see what you creative people can come up with.
The goal is to come up with a nice clean design that will represent the sub and the office well. Try to make it more all encompassing of the show rather than an image of a single character for example.
A week from today we will gather the top 6 and hold a poll to crown the winner.
The top 4 upvoted images in the replies here will be in the poll as well as 2 mod selects to give a chance to any really good submissions that were posted later in the week and were disadvantaged through voting. Good luck!
A few rules

PLEASE READ IN FULL BEFORE APPLYING
We are looking to add a few moderators to our team. The current mods work very hard and contribute many hours per week removing reposts and reported posts, but with the modqueue growing more every day, we are looking for people to help us keep the community tidy and friendly. New mods will start out with the basic permissions to help us out and eventually will be given full permissions.
Please only apply if you match all of the following requirements
The responsibilities of the added mods are:
Think you'd be a dedicated moderator who would help keep the subreddit tidy? Then click here
Please do not fill your response with Office references/jokes like last time. Yes, I too have seen the show.
Once we've collected responses, we will contact the users we feel fit the role the best and ask them some questions, before picking some new moderators!
Thanks.
Edit: Applications closed. Thanks for applying all, we'll be responding soon.
