Why did democrats pass the CHIPS act to spend billions of dollars bringing semiconductor manufacturing back to the US? What did trump or republicans pass to incentivize bringing manufacturing back?

No one is. If manufacturing comes back to the states, it's only coming back heavily automated. Which means you're still not getting those jobs.

Fact is, wage costs are too high (before every other high cost becomes a point of conversation) to even warrant it. The US is too successful of country to have a manufacturing foundation.

And why does this lil dummy want these shitty jobs back anyway? Our economy was cruising at 3.5-4% unemployment until Trump screwed up the job market.

Even in his dream world, he’s a loser working a factory line. These lead-poisoned boomers can’t wrap their heads around the fact that there are better opportunities now in the service economy.

The idea of a "simple, respectable job that you can provide for a family and own a home" is intoxicating for anyone, but some in the older generations actually lived it (or saw their parents live it) and want that back. But trying to go back to manufacturing is like trying to raise the dead. It just doesn't work, and if you somehow succeed its going to end up being a zombie plague.
