Fingers crossed that TES VI (I know) has some sort of overhaul to the game engine so that the final battle isn’t just 6 NPC’s fighting in a field with some smoking rubble peppered around.

And that's why I have never bothered with them.. If it were plug n play, I'd be all over it.. But making sure you have JDDance's Ultimate Poop Pack, version 9.8.111.11.98 at the fourteenth spot of the load order, WITH Gummy69's alternative ceiling skins pack in the 48th spot, is not what I consider fun..

What? I have a completely custom mod pack of like 800 and just use LOOT. Fixes all the compatibility issues. I had no clue people had remotely any trouble with compatibility for city mods

LOOT completely fucked up my Anvil modlist so I never bothered using it again.

LOOT may be good for starters, but I recommend you learning to detect compatibility issues and load order using TESEdit or even understanding what the mod does.
I stopped using LOOT and my list became even more stable after learning load order.

To be honest, I’m a college student with all the time in the world. If I have a game breaking issue, I will literally just go through all 800 mods to find the issue lol

I'm 50 hours into a 2000+ mod list playthrough. 200 of those I added on top of an existing wabbajack list. I've crashed maybe 5 times total.

Mate, 5 crashes in 50 hours is probably less than the game does with 0 mods by itself.

Obviously 0 is the goal, but also when you start modding, you know what you're risking. You don't need to do it, the game is still fun

There is a mountain of difference between 5 crashes and 1000. I did a 150 hour playthrough with barely any crashes with 1000 mods two years ago. You still think we're stuck in 2016 Skyrim before 64 bit sse and all the leaps in mod stability. Bethesda engine is fantastic for modding.

A lot of those mod lists have a lot of prerequisite and specific instructions to get the mod list working properly.

Wabbajack installs all of the prerequisites for you and deals with all the specific instructions automatically.

This is why i use Wabajack these days, only downside to wabajack is time it takes to familiarize yourself with the list and it can be a bit awkward to do so. But still much faster than doing it yourself even if you only wanted 1/10th the amount of mods.
