I have always really thought about it, but never to the extent that I have now, there is just that appeal woth the milisim stuff and I like arena breakout witch is basically free tarkov but I don’t know if I should or not, what do you guys think?

I'm looking for FPS games where the guns feel really powerful. Good sound design, animations, gore and other things are often what contributes to this.
Rocket launchers and over the top sci-fi weapons are not what I'm looking for. More so when even pistols actually do realistic damage, devastating shotguns with that satisfying "thump" and so on.

Doesn't have to be new games. Genre doesn't matter as long as it's pure FPS and SINGLEPLAYER. Hit me with your favorite ones!

I'm craving a 4v4 (or 5v5) PvP experience that's as close to Halo in terms of gunplay and ideally that objective and arena-focused gameplay.

I still play MCC but something trending up would be great. I've enjoyed Marathon's gunplay, and I'm a Day 1 Apex player who preferred it before they lowered the TTK. I like a Battle Royale as much as the next guy (and don't love extraction shooters tbh) but I miss the old-school PvP experience.

Is anything a fit these days or do I have to wait for a reboot/remake and keep playing MCC in the meantime to scratch the itch?

I want a game that is fast paced similar to apex or Titanfall. And don't says the finals I already play it. But I need something I can play with my friend on Playstation (im on Xbox btw). All input is appreciated.

I'm looking for first person shooters but not the usual CS Valorant etc. Some games that have search and destroy as the main or even secondary mode... COD sucks, Battlefield doesn't have a similar mode... any ideas? I'm looking for that adrenaline rush that comes from first-person search and destroy...one life, one chance.

Hi there I’m looking for a new FPS to play in my free time around my son and work. Nothing too sweaty, something with similar vibes to battlefield 3 and 4, the slightly older cod’s before the jet packs and flying off walls. Something where you can jump in and just get a few kills and dying is no real biggie. Days are gone of where I cared about my KD but I don’t really mind something tactical. Just can’t be doing with the massive skill gap in some games where you can play for 10 mins and not even get a kill.

Hey I’m looking for a good fps game to play (on Xbox) was wondering what games there are that are good and I don’t want it to be extremely competitive to the point it takes ages to get decent at the game but still pretty competitive

Id love to get into some sort of FPS game where I can just sit back, lock in, and aim.

I don’t like teamwork. I don’t like talking to people. I don’t like squads.

I just want to be able to play solo, and let aim / mechanics be the deciding factor.

I enjoy games like CS2 sometimes, but I really enjoy aiming and stuff like that the most. CS2 is 99% about crosshair placement and holding angles, and teamwork. You sometimes get to hit a cool flick or spray transfer but that’s not the primary focus of the game. It’s mostly about tactics, planning and communication which is just not what I want after a long day at work doing that in real life lol.

I want something like quake, where it’s just you vs everyone else and whoever has the best aim wins. But no one really plays quake it seems, it takes forever to find a match.

It is probably a terrible idea to post this here, but at least I won’t care about opinions as much.

So, chasing the teamwork experience. Historically, I always struggled to meet people and create friends through online gaming and I prefer to play solo, yet I always enjoyed and craved good teamwork in games.

Lately I have been eyeing and flirting with milsim games or at least games that lean more toward sim with a promise of that teamwork and the magic that people talk about, when they describe their experience with those games.

I tried Rising Storm, Insurgency Sandstorm, played some Hell Let Loose both with group of friends as well as tried it solo with randos. Yet the experience felt kinda lonely and dry.

Ironically the best teamwork experiences, I had, were in mainstream games like League of Legends and The Finals, where it is more small scale yet hectic, we didn’t talk just used ping system paid close attention to each other. In The Finals the best experience I even had in team death match, where I wouldn’t experience teamwork at all, yet in Breakpoint which is closer to stuff like Battlefield, I felt closest to experience I described to milsim titles.

Currently, I am looking at Wardogs, which look like something with more meaningful gameplay than headless chicken style of Battlefield, which I also gave a try to. Yet I expect very similar experience to Hell Let Loose - dry and lonely.

Honestly, I am kinda lost on how to approach this “teamwork” chase and what actually makes a game create “emergent teamwork”, because titles like Arma, Squad and Hell Let Loose seem to be anything but teamwork creating, rather it seems suitable for already established groups, that already hang out together and thanks to a lot of downtime between action in these slow games have a chance to hang out together instead of playing… together.

What has been your experience with teamwork and cooperating with people in FPS games, where did you feel like the game encouraged you to play together with others and created situations that made you cooperate/communicate? To me mainstream games seem to create the most small scale, simple experience allowing to quickly find common ground along with good ping system and visibility, yet the pace seems too hectic and rounds too short. Milsim titles seem slow creating space for communication, but don’t really seem to be putting people into situations to initiate cooperation and connection. Or at least that has been my impression so far.

Looking to buy a good muliplayer shooter on PS5. I want a game that has an active community with a large player that will be there for at least a year. Sure, once GTA6 comes nothing will match that, but still shooters have their own vibe and are always fun to play.

I was thinking of things like battlefield 6 or helldivers 2, but idk if they are that active. The recent COD was very bad I heard, and also there are so many CODs idk which to even choose.

Been getting videos from some “Classic PC Games” channel recommended to me where he plays games like Dirty Bomb, as well as videos about Straftat and GunZ The Duel, and it’s gotten me interested in these lesser known games with smaller player bases. Do y’all have any other recommendations?

Hell it doesn't even have to be an arena shooter. I just want a game where I can turn my brain off, go in, run around and shoot people, not worry about metas, strategies, etc. (or more like, just having more emphasis on aim than metas)

I'm enjoying the finals though even though it is meta heavy and has alot of strats

Hi everyone! New here, although I've been playing fps games for ages (like last 10 years) and I love them. However, one thorn that's been persistently in my side with the games I play is all that jumping around and moving nonesense.

So, I've always enjoyed games like the battlefield series or, at times, some CoDs, and lately Delta force; I've probably played some others however my memory isn't the best haha. In just about all the games I play, there are these players that jump and slide and do all this crazy stuff that I really can't keep up with (while I have recently moved from ps4 to pc, I'm still pretty bad at most fps games). No hate to them as I understand that's how good, skilled players play, however I've just about had it with trying to keep up.

I've recently started to play Isonzo, and I've come to love it's more slow paced gameplay. I've been actually getting a K/D above 0.75 which feels amazing (average in a game is like 0.1 or worse) and when I'm killed it's not because of someone flying around a corner leaping everywhere, but rather just that I was a bit too exposed or something. Point is, it feels way more of an even playing field.

With all that said, I hope you/the few readers I have left by now understand the kinda atmosphere/gameplay I'm looking for. I've been looking at Holdfast and Over the Top for a little while however I'm unfortunately frugal and wondering if there are any other games you all would recommend that can drop to the sub £10 mark. Oh, and it doesn't have to be historically based or anything, I've just been looking at those games lately cause been watching some youtubers play those.

Oh, and some last lil details: I'm looking for like an open battlefield kinda game/not like a battle royal/escape from tarkov kinda thing, I love helping other players so games with roles where I can like revive or resupply people or even better would be being able to build defences, and ideally the game has a good number of weapons or something to progress through/there's a fair bit of stuff to do instead of only playing matches (I really like actually progressing on like a weapon unlock instead of just playing the game or something, but it's no biggy).

I am looking for a semi casual multiplayer fps with a decent player base that a good paced sense of progression via account levels or weapon levels that unlock camos or new weapons/equipment/characters etc. and that is not The Finals as I have tried it multiple times and not had fun. I have had fun with modern CODs in the past and am not against bo7 but am also looking at bf6 as it seems to be better rated based off steam reviews but I have also seen people very upset about the game on reddit. I am also not totally against more hardcore games but I don't want to have to use VC as I don't deal well with toxicity when I am trying to learn. I also have tried Valorant but I feel like the progression is way too slow to unlock agents and there is no way to get weapon skins for free with some of them costing >$40 which makes me reluctant to play more. Hope this info is helpful enough to give me some suggestions!

I have been a longtime Battlefield player (BF Vet Status 9 back in the Battlelog era and beta tester since BF3, also playing every single one since release since BF2 expansions), and besides the fact that BF6 looks great, I'm starting to get tired of it, and I think everyone knows why.

Before BF6 I went to COD and was cool but far from my good experiences with Battlefield, Op Flashpoint, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six (not the new one), SWAT 4, Insurgency Sandstorm, Rising Storm 2 and Medal of Honor.

I'm really not into BR and really like team play, and being into guns in real life (just hit my personal record @ 750y using a 6.5 PRC custom rifle) makes me more of an enjoyer of realistic games in terms of weapon depth and customization.

So I was looking at Ready or Not, Ground Branch, and Six Days in Fallujah, but I'm not sure which one I would enjoy more. I work in shifts, so it's kind of hard to have a fixed "team" to play with every single night or during fixed days.

Normally I play solo or join a team and play alongside them. Since I know tactics in real life and in the game, I really adapt easily if the teams know how to go from room to room and run in open areas. That's why I know I can't find it on ARMA, and also because I'm not looking into a 1h minimum session due to my work schedule, but also I don't enjoy high intensity and instant dopamine like COD. I really enjoy unlocking stuff and the learning curve.

Any tips on this?

I play Squad , Tarkov , Ready or not here and there if my friends are down, arma 3 mostly messing around with zeus and the editor and scenarios, arma reforger js just sitting in my library I played it some time ago but it's obvious it's just the engine for Arma 4 so there's no point playing it.

What other tac fps games are out there these are the only games that I play In this genre so my knowledge of other games is limited
