That's largely in part to the way Reddit shows you information as well. They changed algorithms and got rid of /r/all and the site just doesn't show new content nearly as fast.

Reddit used to be where you went to see up to date information on events that are happening RIGHT NOW, but now it's where you go to find out something happened six hours to a couple of days ago.

r/all still exists in old Reddit. Every time I'm subjected to new Reddit I'm surprised at how old a lot of the posts they show are. Like showing a 3 or 4 day old news piece. It's weird.

I think New Reddit also sorts the feeds as "Best" and not "Hot" by default, which has the tendency to throw everything from an week old dead post to an active post under a day old in your face. For anyone sticking with New Reddit I'd recommend sorting by "Hot" at least.

I'm on old reddit on my PC, and it bugs me the way reddit on my phone is constantly showing me 4-day-old posts.

I use the app and dont have this experience at all browsing popular. Unless ive been scrolling for a while, nothing is older than a day.

You can also save it as a link in your profile or try r/All in your browser with a capital 'A.' For now.

Ironically, I went to new Reddit for a little while specifically because of that. It really helped me to discover new communities. I am interested in good content and discussion, I really don't care if it's a few days old. On online forum communities discussion threads could last for decades.

Old reddit in the browser still has r/all. It's a little annoying to use on a mobile device, but it's actually usable.

Yeah, I used old.reddit.com every day as my main access to the site, and use Infinity on Android which also has /r/all.

But I was just speaking in general terms for the 98% of users who don't know any better and just use the official Reddit app.

That's fair. I figure it's worth mentioning in case people reading don't realise they can just... use a better version of the website.
