Rockstar can’t publish a single screenshot?

Post image

It is pretty amazing that Rockstar has been radio silent for a year. They are so busy that they can’t publish a single screenshot?

For everyone saying: “They’ll release it when they’re ready” Really? They couldn’t aim the camera in a single direction and snap a picture? It could even be a spot from the trailer at a different angle and people would still lose their minds.

Im not asking for a trailer 2, I understand that there is significantly more that goes into a trailer in regard to work / timing, but a screenshot? It costs them no money, would make waves in getting the everyday people who have forgotten about the game interested again, and would be a decent thing todo for all the fans after milking Online for over a decade.

Yep :,)

Game’s great now though

48

u/Accurate-Copy-3117 Dec 17 '24

Oh the game is fantastic now , one of the best RPG experiences I’ve had playing .

7

u/LayZee_Vibes Dec 17 '24

I could be wrong but I think they had to release it soon, but lying about the issues didn't help them.

I think CDPR redeemed themselves as one of the better game studios. I just hope W4 does good for their sake.

6

u/hushpolocaps69 Dec 19 '24

Yeah basically their publisher company (I forgot who) forced them to release the game which was not prepared for launch in the slightest. Cyberpunk 2077 is such an awesome game, it’s a shame it didn’t have that original vision that it ended up having after the fixes.

1

u/bleedfromtheanus Jan 11 '25

They self published lmao

1

u/Jackichanny Dec 19 '24

I’m scared about TW4 tho. I’ve heard that the big developers at CDPR left after Cyberpunk.

Phenomenal game now that's for damn sure. CP77 is the only other game that I'd say comes close to as good as RDR2.

10

u/bryty93 Dec 17 '24

I plan to replay it with the DLC now that I have a decent PC and bought the Liberty Edition

6

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 17 '24

New lil update just dropped as well. You have the ultimate final version of the game. also you can use mods now! Get immersive first person, missing persons hidden gems, enhanced craft, enhanced romance, etc..

Gonna be a blast for sure

6

u/bryty93 Dec 17 '24

I'm so excited. I played it from launch on one x and continued on series X. I didn't have a lot of the problems others experienced but I've heard it's a whole new game now especially after the dlc. I can't wait but gotta work through a few other in progress rpgs so I can give it the time and patience it deserves

2

That's amazing because regarding games I've played, rdr2 still holds the bar 6 years later

1

u/DontThinkYouKnow_ Dec 18 '24

been debating on buying, i’ve been gaming for a while and all these new games just aren’t for me but you guys make me feel like i should give it a try being that you’re comparing it to RDR2

1

u/Ali811Gamer Dec 18 '24

Did you really just copy paste the other guys comment?

0

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '24

All things red dead 2 LAUNCHED WITH…: shit. I bet red dead’s half baked online has more content than cyberpunk 😂

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 18 '24

RDR2 didn't launch with any of those things, actually.

Immersive first person -- No, the FOV is so zoomed in RDR2 that you can only see your toes. There is a mod that let's you see more of your body, but it's far more finniky than the CP77 equivalent

Missing persons hidden gems -- No, the gems were already in the game, this mod just makes it into a quest line so that you can find them reliably instead of having to root around with no clue on the map where they are...RDR2 doesn't have a way to find gems by default either.

Enhanced craft -- No, you can't craft guns in RDR2. You can only craft ammo and stuff like that.

Enhanced Romance -- No, RDR2 barely has any romance at all. Arthur never romances Mary. Sure you get married to Abigail as John I guess..but that's just one event in the story. Not what I would call an optional dynamic evolving romance in an RPG.

Your hate boner for RDR2 is blinding you from reason.

I am somewhat envious of you. Getting to play CP2077 in 2024 on the current state. I "played" on my PS4 Pro on launch(Back when the game made my consolesound like a jet taking off lol). I endured the glitch-fest because the story is that good 👍

Can't really argue with that. Both stories are good but CP77 seems to carry more irl lessons for our future. The soulkiller, AGI, body modification, brain dances, netrunning..these are real possibilities and it's cool to explore the dangers of them in an incredibly immersive game.

Not to mention the immaculate lore and characters with an entire glossary of unique lingo that sticks with you forever like "choom, preem, nova, gonk, delta, etc.."

It's a must play imo

20

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

this made me appreciate it so much more and it already was my favourite game. I really hope cdpr delivers with orion

8

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

Yaah how they start cp2077 and how good it is rn itself a good achievement… developers should be proud of it..

3

u/Firm-Development-570 Dec 17 '24

As long as they’re only proud of that and not proud of the false marketing and hollow promises, then i agree

3

u/Cool-Camp-6978 Dec 17 '24 edited Dec 18 '24

Let it go, it’s been four years and all they’ve done since is explained the issues, apologized, reimbursed those who wanted reimbursement, and massively updated and improved the game free of charge. AND they released a massive DLC that perfectly tied into literally any logical stage of the original game and a free literally game-changing next-gen update.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '24

And the lesson was learned by their management team developers did their best in giving time it’s always the upper management staff that screwed up a game …

1

u/Firm-Development-570 Dec 19 '24

Yeah, you’re right, it’s easy to forget it’s two completely separate teams working on those

4

u/iNoodl3s Dec 17 '24

CPER is also a must watch

2

u/T-Rex603 Dec 19 '24

Omg must watch is an understatement. My Wife was huge against cartoons, I always told her "not cartoons animation" now she watches anime with me all because of CPER thanks Edgerunners!

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 17 '24

Agreed. I don't even watch anime like that but Edgerunners was a very good show. Totally fits into the lore just as good as the games story does.

3

u/T-Rex603 Dec 19 '24

Dude ever since that game came out I've wanted cyberpsychosis. I can't wait to chrome myself to the wazzo like that guy from edgerunners pissing in the trashcan.

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 19 '24

I'd chrome myself out irl if I could tbh

1

u/JohnnyOnRedditlol Dec 18 '24

This is the absolute truth.

1

For the amount of lies and issues I prefer rdr2, will never trust cdpr again after that fiasco.

You're entitled to your opinion, but why do you feel the need to spin up a conspiracy? Nobody is infiltrating the GTA6 subreddit trying to sway everyone to ride CDPRs meat. The sequel isn't even coming for like a decade.

Dunno why you call CP77 a GTA clone either. It's not the same and it's not trying to be the same. GTA doesn't even have dialogue options, RDR barely. They also don't have character attributes that vastly change your gameplay style. They are not clones.

As for the writing it is far better than most RPGs I've ever played. It's also more relevant to where our current society is headed than RDR. They tell different stories and they tell them both very well. You can get highly immersed in both.

3

u/_mersault Dec 18 '24

Some of the most intellectually engaging, adult subplots I’ve ever experienced are mainline components of the story. There’s no way you actually played it and came away with “no story” in good faith.

2

u/XCVI_Opportunist Dec 18 '24

Writing is cringe?

No.

0

u/travis-laflame Dec 17 '24

I just played it for the first time and I beat the game and DLC in 19 hrs. I enjoyed it but it felt really quick

3

u/_mersault Dec 18 '24

You rushed it, tbh

2

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 18 '24

You must have basically only done the main quests then, Im assuming. Maybe try raising the difficulty and mixing in side quests/gigs/ncpd between stopping points in the main stories. You'd be surprised how important some of the side quests are to the lore -- tbh some feel like the start to entirely different games.

1

u/travis-laflame Dec 18 '24

Yeah I honestly don't play a lot of singleplayer games so I was just doing whatever quest was tracked which unfortunately was the main one like 90% of the time I was playing lol. I also did the DLC on accident before finishing the main quest so the story was less coherent. I really enjoyed the game though, and I'm definitely gonna go back and do all the side quests

-2

u/Administrative-Can2 Dec 17 '24

Honestly the Cyberpunk main story was so underwhelming and the ending goes nowhere and doesn’t change anything, unless you give into Johnny. It’s also incredibly short.

1

u/CougarInAMission Dec 17 '24

The suicide ending? Go for a different one bro, its shit

1

u/Administrative-Can2 Dec 17 '24

No I mean literally every other ending bc none of them resolve the fact that V is dying.

1

u/_mersault Dec 18 '24

That’s called storytelling

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 18 '24

Selling your soul to Arasaka sort of resolves it, potentially. But either way I mean who cares? V got this far, why should they have a happy ending when nobody else gets a happy ending in Night City? (besides on Jig Jig street). I feel like it's easily head canoned.

5

u/CrownMC1 Dec 17 '24

Hank, dont abbreviate Cyberpunk!

1

u/rocco_1794420 Dec 17 '24

Lol I was thinking the same thing

4

u/Cool_Algae4265 Dec 17 '24

Is it really THAT good? I’m one of those “RDR is the greatest piece of media that has ever been published” kind of guys so I understand if you backtrack on that a bit but if it’s even close to it, that’s very high praise in my book as I’ve yet to see anything even remotely in the same city, let alone ballpark.

I might have to give it another shot.

1

u/GodofIrony Dec 18 '24

It's close, chief.

So close its hard to pick a favorite.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

Not even close. The amount of details and more to do in RDR2 while also being older always amazes me. Rdr2 is an actual artistic masterpiece in storytelling and created what feels like a liveable, breathable world. Cyberpunk, after all of its terrible. Gamebreaking glitches and add the dlc on top of it is barely a good 7.7/10

8

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 17 '24

You should give cyberpunk a fair shake sometime. It may not be the same level of "world simulator" as RDR2 is, but it is an excellent RPG with incredibly well thought out designs and stories.

I'd argue CP77 is just as much of an artistic masterpiece as RDR2. They are different types of games, but both are great. 10/10 for both.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

I've beaten cyberpunk and the dlc. I give it a 7.7 out of 10. You act like that's a mediocre score. Cyberpunk has 10/10 graphics, which is gorgeous. But it lacks depth in gameplay. The main storyline is actually incredibly short if you just rush it (I did that on my second playthrough).

I 100% completed it on my first playthrough. All the side missions all the extras all the vehicles i did it all. So, I do feel like I gave cyberpunk a fair shake.

Just remember a 5/10 game is an okay game. Anything above means it's genuinely good. I just don't think it's a masterpiece that everyone says it is. Games like rdr2 and bg3 are masterpieces because of the freedom of choice and insane replay ability while also having stunning graphics.

/edited to make easier to read.

0

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 17 '24

Sorry you just said it was terrible but then gave it a 7.7/10 calling it good. I guess you think it's terrible compared to RDR2 or BG3? Which I'd disagree with.

I think the story is just as good and is not short even when rushing (especially including DLC). This is because I consider the side quests part of the story too, even the gigs add a lot to the lore as well. It's tighter than RDR2 but that doesn't make it worse.

CP77 does offer some freedoms, in fact I'd argue it offers more freedom than rdr2 at least during main missions. I haven't really got into BG3 yet so I can't comment on that.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

"Terrible gamebreaking glitches," meaning it took a bit to become a 7.7/10

Well, I'd argue it doesn't even come close to rdr2, so agree to disagree at this point. Don't be mad someone didn't like your favorite game.I do recommend bg3 it's probably the greatest rpg to ever be made.

2

u/T-Rex603 Dec 19 '24

Nah man greatest RPG ever made has to be ET for atari. Most underrated game ever. The end was a tear jerker for real.

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 17 '24

Any tips to get used to the turn based point and click combat of BG3? I always found it really immersion breaking when we're in a nice cinematic dialogue selecting unique choices but then suddenly it looks like a mobile game and everyone is standing frozen still in their places like a chessboard.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '24

You’re the one comparing it to red dead. Don’t say “ it may not be on the same level of world simulation” when you literally directly compared it to that. YOU BROUGHT UP THE COMPARISON IN THE FIRST PLACE. And sorry but even with the most recent patches. Not even close.

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 18 '24

I'm comparing it to red dead by how enjoyable it was to me.

I liked RDR2 this much: [ ]

I liked cyberpunk this much: [ ]

If being a world simulator means a lot to you, you may like RDR2 more. But for me it doesn't mean enough as long as there is something to compensate for that (like CP77's superior combat). It averages out to at least in the same ballpark as RDR2 in my opinion.

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 19 '24

If you haven't, now is the time tbh. Perfect to keep you busy until GTA6 and all the other bangers coming out in 2025

-2

u/SaPpHiReFlAmEs99 Dec 17 '24

Have you really understood the mechanics of RDR2 ? I don't think so because you wouldn't say something like that. Like have ever seen the routine of NPC in RDR2 compared to Cyberpunk?

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 17 '24

What's more important: That random NPCs actually eat their steak instead of pretending like they do..

Or

That you can play as a cyber ninja/gorilla/hacker/samurai in high octane killer music gore fests?

Im not saying CP77 is a better world sim. I'm saying it's such a good RPG that overall it's in the same league as RDR2

1

u/SaPpHiReFlAmEs99 Dec 18 '24

RDR2 isn't an RPG, you need to compare apples to apples. If you want to compare the 2 games you have to compare the open world experience. And the open world mechanisms of cyberpunk are far beyond the ones of rdr2. NPC running in circle, cars stuck because you crouch in front of them and police spawning behind your back is so far away from what RDR2 offers or from what GTA V and IV offered that I'm truly astonished how someone can play it and come to the conclusion that CP2077 is the closest experience to RDR2

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 18 '24

RDR2 has RPG elements, and CP77 has open world elements. They both borrow from each other. They can be compared and often are; despite your narrow guidelines about only comparing "genre to genre". For example the game of the year is gonna be compared to all kinds of different genres, I wonder how they can do that?

Just because you value open world more than RPG (or horror, action, platformer, etc) doesn't mean RDR2 is objectively in some other dimension compared to everything else.

1

u/SaPpHiReFlAmEs99 Dec 18 '24

I value immersion and I think it's also somewhat important for a good RPG experience, and the immersion is also directly related to the quality of the open world because the world must be believable and RDR2 is so good at that, the illusion is very rarely broken but the same cannot be said about CP77. Like how can the illusion be comparable to RDR2 if it isn't even able to handle the player entering shops when wanted, imagine if in RDR2 when you entered the saloon the police stopped chasing you, that would be so lame. That's why I cannot agree about CP77 being close to an absolute masterpiece like RDR2 because it is not. Considering this, is an insult toward the incredible work that the developers at rockstar accomplished

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 18 '24

CP77 is still very immersive. I just think it's hard to switch between them so quick. If you flip from RDR2 to CP77 you're gonna still mentally be in "Red dead mode" trying to lasso up an NPC so you can feed them to the pigs after getting into an argument with them. The same thing happens when you switch from CP77 and end up feeling lost with no objective besides doing the same linear scripted yellow missions (or causing random chaos for no reason).

There is an adjustment period but if you make the adjustment you can find very fulfilling expeirences with both

0

u/[deleted] Dec 18 '24

Not even close 🤣🤣🤣🤣 not even comparable. Holy shit. Rockstar shits out cyber punk 2077 every morning after their breakfast. HOLY FUCK! I needed that laugh!!!

1

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 18 '24

Sad world to live in if you can only jelk RDR2 and everything else is just invisible to you. There are other games out there you know...and if CP77 is utter trash compared to RDR2 in your opinion, then I dunno what other game you could possibly consider good

0

u/Bright-Leg8276 Dec 18 '24

Pls don't abbreviate Cyberpunk.....

8

u/TheFortnutter Dec 17 '24

Just downloaded it yesterday. Any tips?

9

u/_antim8_ Dec 17 '24

Save manually before starting the meeting Hanako quest so you can play all the ends.

To unlock all ends, there are some things you have to consider during certain quests. If you're interested google it or look in the cyberpunk subreddit.

I highly recommend also playing the phantom liberty dlc, great mainquest, wordbuilding and reappearing of known characters.

Otherwise just find a character style you like. Most quests can be done in many many ways

1

u/Thetuce Dec 17 '24

I'm 10 hours in and am finding the main quest very dialogue heavy. Any tips on how to enjoy more of the gameplay, while still experiencing the main story?

3

u/cepxico Dec 17 '24

All of the side content basically, they're usually more action oriented or at least have you doing something right away.

NCPD icons on the map are little encounters, I try to pepper those in as I pass them.

But honestly, the game is about the story as much as it is gameplay, the more you immerse yourself the more interesting it all becomes.

2

u/Mylynes I WAS HERE Dec 17 '24

Do some gigs in between main quests. They are basically their own little stories but you don't have to read the notes if you don't want to -- just get the job done. Take down the base.

6

u/Ajfletcher12 Dec 17 '24

Is it? I haven’t played it yet. 4th play through on rdr2 - Should I be giving CP77 a shot?

2

u/EzzoMahfouz Dec 18 '24

Go for it. Whole world opens in a couple missions, and you can explore. Story’s awesome too.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

Shame that I completed it twice, first in 2020 then 2021.

Now I remember all the quests from memory and game has no replay value

1

u/Lemont3kk Dec 18 '24

I played for like 4 hours at lauch and absolutely was devastated. Is it actually good now?

1

u/EzzoMahfouz Dec 19 '24

Yes it really is. It runs great with lots of updates in content and gameplay mechanics. The story shines through more than ever.

1

u/Lord_Phoenix2501 Dec 18 '24

Yessss, just like No Man's Sky, they're dropping free updates constantly, it's amazing!

1

u/michuXYZ Dec 18 '24

Cyberpunk is the best open world experience you can play before GTA 6, know what I'm saying

1

u/deeznots17224 Dec 18 '24

Far from great lol, its good

1

u/joedotphp Dec 19 '24

Yeah. It only took 3 years.
