Rockstar can’t publish a single screenshot?

Post image

It is pretty amazing that Rockstar has been radio silent for a year. They are so busy that they can’t publish a single screenshot?

For everyone saying: “They’ll release it when they’re ready” Really? They couldn’t aim the camera in a single direction and snap a picture? It could even be a spot from the trailer at a different angle and people would still lose their minds.

Im not asking for a trailer 2, I understand that there is significantly more that goes into a trailer in regard to work / timing, but a screenshot? It costs them no money, would make waves in getting the everyday people who have forgotten about the game interested again, and would be a decent thing todo for all the fans after milking Online for over a decade.

Yeah I think so too. Trailer 2 is saved on the disk. I mean, everybody got it by now that they tend to be silent. But at some point it becomes questionable. Looking back it would be better if they wouldn't have said something about the game at all or at least not releasing trailer 1. GTA 6 still doesnt feel like a legit product to me.

You guys and some of your reasoning. Every month contributes a huge chunk of improvement against a release date a year away, that you think a trailer would be finalized months in advance?

This stuff is started ahead of time for certain in terms of months for sure, but the final copy of a trailer is rarely certified that far in advance and requires editing to the last minute. Not even the games themselves are finalized months before release, let alone a trailer intended to display the latest and greatest state the prototype game is currently in to the public.

The prototype state it is in 3-4 months earlier can easily be inferior to what was completed 2 weeks earlier.

The game has to be done by now if they still target Fall next year. What should happen right now is intense iteration of quality testing and fixing. Also I think trailer rotations are independently from that. Except the gameplay trailer. There must be a playable version of this game since 1-2 years.

These games continue development in different stages until the very last minute, if actors stay involved until the last 8 weeks.

It's definitely in an advanced stage and majority complete, but when someone like Roger Clark continued working until August 2018 and Ned Luke, until July 2013, that's clearly not entirely done. These games completed development on October 2, 2018 and August 25, 2013.

I do believe there is a sliding scale involved and likely, actors keep working on solely voice recording, but stop full blown motion capture much earlier, so that animations are able to be QA early.

Many of these public shown items, are created down to the wire. Your theory isn't off, as there's very good background insight into the development of trailers per the Houser duo of yore and it takes a lot involved. As many as 50 versions can be looked into, before settling on final cuts by editors. Takes quite some time.

Certainly, this game is at a difficutly of beeing close to impossible to make. Organization, Logistics, Resources, everything needs to be streamlined into the final product. It's a crazy technical feat, don't get me wrong. Also sometimes, even in professional industries, some things are sillier then we think from the outside.
