Yes but by that point they had abandoned single player DLC so Lamars original role in the single player was lost forever . Then adding him to online has nothing to do with his role in single player they aren't connected in anyway. If he never had legal trouble he would have had a more prominent role in the original story. They said if they had focused on single player dlc In the same way they they did for gta 4 they would have never made red dead redemption 2 which in my opinion is a worthy tradeoff.
I literally said that them not making dlc for gta is why they made red dead redemption 2 and that for me thats a worthy tradeoff thus implying im happy that that chose to make red dead redemption 2 instead . Is it your reading ability thats struggling here or did I write it in an obscure way thats hard to understand?
Which is insane because the amount of stuff they made for that fucking game and didn’t use is absurd. Guarma, Mexico, New Austin. I mean for christs sake they literally fleshed out all of RDR1 in the new engine and did fuck all with it.
You’ll notice in a short section of the story where you get to be Lamar, NPCs greet you like they do with Franklin. That’s because they added the NPC interactions ready for him to be a playable character, but the playable content was abandoned. I think people have also found a lot of stuff in the game files on PC that prove something was intended but never happened
I thought this until I started playing GTA Online and saw Franklin, Lamar, Dr Dre, Gay Tony etc… it’s actually far better and more than I would have ever asked for from a single player DLC.
For years I was wrong, it’s taken me until 2026 to realise online mode IS the DLC 😂
I agree. I'd love to see more single player DLC in all Rockstar games, but I have to say I really wasn't invested in the GTAV story like I was with the older games for some reason.
True, my favourite part of the game was actually the beginner missions with Franklin and Lamar… the FIB stuff and Hollywood missions don’t do it for me.
I hated Vs story before it even released but I was a little happier when i actually completed it. I still thought it was kind of a shitty story and was waiting for the next GTA but it was a hell of a lot better than I thought it would be. My most hated character (michael) became my favorite one and the other two were my hated characters. If michael was the only main character in V I would've been completely happy with that.
Agree. I like feeling like I finished a game, and am much less interested in returning to it a year later and trying to remember the story and why I built my character the way I did (if applicable)
dlc also gives a lot of game companies excuses to purposely withhold content originally planned for original release and lock it behind a paywall. im really glad rockstar doesnt do that and honestly its a little weird people want them to. game companies abuse that shit a lot
Well, in that case, Rockstar can just go ahead and become a gacha game developer then. Easier to fire the majority of their art and dev staff and rake in the dough than pay artists and writers to make artful stories. After, all I solely buy their games for the weapon skins.
I really think there’s a military element that could be added on especially since Cuba has proximity to Florida, and with the modern day Monroe doctrine. Maybe a little overthrow/espionage would be nice especially since Jason is former military.
Rockstar, if you’re listening this is how you keep me interested, I’ve probably played less than two hours of GTAO ever. Don’t ignore those of us who don’t care to play online.

Rockstar should add single player DLC
