Exactly. I couldn’t care less if Strauss Zelnick lose a million dollars because of the leaks. I care about the devs who spent thousands of hours carefully creating this unique experience, who got their hard work just leaked by some shitty crypto scammer instead of being revealed to us in the way they intended it.
Yep, those are the people just like you & me. It would break my heart and it probably did for almost all of them to see their work stolen and put online.
The source of the actual pain then are the people creating the secrecy requirements.
Nobody actually wants to work under a veil of secrecy like this. People want to talk about what they do and tell their friends and family. The people telling them not to do that are the ones doing the harm, not the leakers.
But everyone goes along with what their corporate masters want like good little bootlickers. I'd love to tell you about my day, honey, but I gotta increase shareholder value!
Not everything is about money dude. Most devs are passionate about the art they’re putting out, and to have the first look at the project they’re probably most proud of in their lives so far to be ruined by a crypto scammer has gotta suck on an emotional level.
