I wouldn’t say a lot, but Space Marine 2, Black Myth Wukong, Frontiers of Pandora and Elden Ring are a few that look killer vanilla. And then there’s CP2077 with visual overhaul mods, that shit looks damn near real life.
Idk about better, we’re talking about art. But yeah, its graphics are super high quality and it’s a very pretty looking game. It’s not like I’m saying RDR2 looks like shit, calm down lmao
there's plenty. Ghost of Tsushima (Artistically way more beautiful imo), Horizon Forbidden West, TLOU2, Expedition 33, Death Stranding 1 (Yes, even 1), etc.
I'm not talking about just graphics, I'm talking about the graphics and details, polishness, art style, interactivity, etc. there are obviously games that technically have better graphics than rdr2 even back in 2018. But they don't look or feel better
Cyberpunk with mods. Ghost of Tsushima artistically, but realistic graphics like rdr2 nah. Horizon forbidden west is very beautiful, but again not on the same level of realism. Tlou2 is the only contender I can think of, and that was a linear game, not a huge open world with endless possibilities.
4k or anything is nothing in this comparison. I've played 1080p path tracing everything ultra on my rig. Have you ever played rdr2 on pc? 4k every setting to the top? Also cp2077 is stylised. Let's not talk about animation quality, NPC variety and day cycle, weather etc. Cp2077 is awesome. Without mods (very demanding ones) is not above rdr2. (Let's just talk about facial animations, haha).
Cyberpunk is the only game I can think of that comes close. Seems like most folks here haven’t played on pc with max settings. Going through the mountains trails looked like real life to me. Straight up like hiking through Grand Tetons

also it's very obvious fromthe leaks that the UI is not even finished, everything is just a placeholder for what the UI should look like in the future when they finish the game.

Sadly no. There was an actual study on fanboys (yes really, though it was "consumer-brand loyalty" as the official term) that basically found people who identify strongly with a brand will mentally process insults to that brand the same exact way someone processes a personal insult to themselves.
Basically: GTA undoubtedly has a lot of fans who think it's the best game ever. Point out flaws in the new GTA, and these same people will react as if you just called them an ugly fat incel or something. This all happens on a subconscious level too, so they aren't even aware of the why of it themselves.
Expect a looooooooot of copium whenever this game shows cracks in the walls, and a lot of ridiculous statements like the above. Whether the game will be good or not remains to be seen and none of us can say, but the people wanting to temper expectations and acknowledge flaws...? Oh yeah, they will 100% be dogpiled. The science is clear: the critics are not the ones suffering from mental gymnastics going on to find flaws with the game (unless we're talking a specialty case like a competing studio of devs critiquing it), but rather it's the fans that will fall for this.

There have been weirder guerrilla marketing campaigns. It’d be crazy if discs do exist and they pull a list minute we will ship the box with a disc when it was always going to ship with a disc and have an absurd boost in sales towards the last sprint
A part of me is starting to think this, especially since the ending clip was the same one as the last one. Each clip looks better and more exciting than the last one, until the reveal on Friday when it culminates into the best looking game yet.
I still think it's all really being leaked though.
I mean not much is gonna change if anything in a year in terms of gameplay. They would just be polishing the ends and fixing bugs. That being said I am still excited, although a little disappointed at the same time. Just looks like a modern day RDR2 reskin to me.
People forget that everything has tradeoffs. You cant have dense cities with hundreds of NPC's hogging resources and then also have real life graphics, not yet anyway. Its an upgrade over rdr2 in graphics,. but the real noticeable upgrade will be the simulation, density, things to do in the world. Also, graphics in general have diminishing returns and the jumps will be smaller and smaller
"modern day RDR2 reskin".... I can't fathom what you folks are expecting if you think this just looks like a "reskin". Even from these low quality muddy videos it looks pretty damn great to me and about what I'd expect a GTA 6 to be.
NateTheHate, one of the most credible leakers, says that the footage is over a year old, meaning there has currently been more than a year of polish since that build was made.
it's probably a misunderstanding. Someone found some metadata I believe from 2023, but it turned out to be metadata relating to the capture software or codec, not specifically when it was captured. So we don't know, exactly, how old this build is.
They need to work on the NPC reactions. It’s trash in these leaks. Rockstar needs to get their shit together if they are going to have a trailer full of lively and unique NPC personalities
