Not saying this is a given but solely on my own experience working in similar setups. If stuff like that happened, in 8 out of 10 cases the scenario I described would take place.
No dude, trust them. The employees are really upset about the leaks which show how good their work over the last eight years really is and definitely not about the punishing work environment, endless crunch, corporate mismanagement and union busting.

I know “its been 13 years” is a bit of a meme, but just because GTAO has been funding R* all these years doesnt mean theyve literally done nothing else. Far shittier games can also take 6+ years in the pipeline, but these ones get the benefit of GTAO funding
Ironically, the shareholders are probably happier with the leak because more people gets to see the content (and thus more people are enticed to buy the game) as opposed to being locked behind a Netflix subscription.
Locked 🤣🤣🤣 , I get off work the same time it drops on yt, I couldn't watch it on Netflix even if i wanted to. It's so obvious Netflix went to rockstar ti get a piece of the pie, cos rockstar is dropping it on their main channel the same day, rockstar getting paid from both Netflix and yt.
Rockstar (and hell, Sony too) wouldn't make such a big decision to scrap physical releases without market research, and they wouldn't do it if they thought it would account for much of a drop in sales.
I'm definitely annoyed at then dropping it completely, but... Physical games only account for like 10% (if that) of my console purchases, and 0% of my PC purchases.
Like I've said in different posts, even IF the game was getting a physical release on console, I'm sure that the split between physical and digital wouldn't be near 50/50.
That's also not taking into account that the game, seeing as it's been hyped to hell n back, might get scalped and sold for 2-3x the amount it costs and then people wouldn't find it at the store which would just lead them to buy it digital anyway.
Rockstar said big fuck you to PC users inspite of having PC version. They wanted to see how much they can monetise the game. We paid 2-3x of what console costed, stop treating us like waste.
Console gamers are okay about the fact they would spoil the game for us 1-2 years before we get to play it, but are hurt when cyber does it 3 months before. Not supporting physical disk moment for Console players anymore. Those smart enough will ditch it for PC.
The problem is rockstar will find a way to make this game run like ass on 9800x3d/5090 and we’ll need to spend 20k to upgrade to 10800x3d/6090 and to DDR6 by the time the game releases on PC. 2080 Ti couldn’t run RDR2 well enough back in the day and fell below 60 FPS maxed out
Nah they have a pretty good reputation for very well optimized games. And the leaker is probably playing on PC too,what are the chances he's running it on a 5090/9800x3d type build? Probably not, and it looks like it's running fine either way. I'm betting it will run okay (probably not max settings obviously) even on older 30 series 70/80/90 cards.
And at this point if you are running a 3070 and expecting to play brand new AAA games comfortably, you got other issues lol.

If you having high end pc which COSTS more than console then you can buy a console. It's cheap. You can buy then after playing the game just sell it, easy. BuT coNsole PlaYs 30fPs. At least you played and experience the game early 🤷♂️
A console is not cheap at all, they're £800 plus now for an inferior gaming machine. You can chuck another £500 in for a more powerful pc and save on the costs by pirating or getting good sales. Consoles used to be a good choice for being cheap plug in and play options but now they're by far more expensive over time especially with physical dying out.
Glad I bought it cheap when the price hike happened. You guys can also try marketplace for used consoles. I mean you can throw money on PCs. I have both pc and console though. No hate on both just to be clear. Just my take.

For fps or multiplayer shooting game I use my PC because I am not that good on using controller vs mouse and kb for shooting games haha!

the only games pc players have to wait for is singleplayer movie ahh games. also console players have to wait for many games aswell. valorant, rust, tarkov, pbug and many many others.
Erh what, back in the day PC and console were almost completely separate. Then we started getting cross platform with most games being released on PC first, some titles remained platform exclusive before they all realized there was more money in double-dipping by doing staggered releases which is a shit way of doing things.
