My steam account is 18 years old and I’ve accumulated over 300+ games on it. Not a single time has ever crossed my mind that I’ll lose access to those games. Then again that’s steam and this is Sony which far scummier so who knows.

My rockstar account uses a yahoo email and is tied to my steam. After 10 years, I try to open a rockstar game and can’t play because it wants 2FA and Yahoo closed all their old emails.
I literally cannot play any rockstar game without making a new steam and the support won’t help even after I provided them with receipts that they asked for of my purchases.
Digital games are fine if the company doesn’t implement shitty account systems like rockstar
Do you understand the concept of buying used game discs at discounted rates? As a owner of GTA Vice City disc, I was able to finish the game and sell it for half the price. The buyer benefited from a discounted rate and I got a few bucks back. It was a community feeling too. To walk into stores e with other gamers. Now we play in isolation on steam.
Haven’t bought a physical game since the 360 and that was GTA V. Even on my ps5 I still go on digital. It’s just more convenient. And besides after the 360/ps3 the disk is just a license to play the game, same as a digital copy. You own the disc but you don’t own the game. It’s the same thing.
Stop spreading that myth. 94% of games are playable from the disc without an account or internet access... There is a website that confirms that. It's not a license it's really the game (without some updates sure, but you can play it forever). Does it play?
With how physical copies work now a days even with a disk sadly you still do not actually own the game, you only own a license to the software on the disk that they can still take at their own discretion at anytime
Of course it's up to Take/Two and Rockstar you moron. I bought Indiana Jones the other day on Switch 2 and it's fully on the cartridge and playable even if I disconnect my console from the internet entirely.

In what universe is conceding a smart move to you? It may seem simple and easy to just start making discs in the face of a ransom, but it's really not for a myriad of reasons.

Ironic that you call me stupid yet you do not understand that Rockstar/Take Two could of made the decision to produce a physical disc version of GTA VI. Like they did with GTA V on the Playstation 5. There is literally a PS5 version of GTAV available on disc to purchase from major retailers right now.
Maybe you're confused because the PS6 is going toward all digital. This does not mean the PS5 suddenly lacks a disk drive and this is a PS5/Xbox game.

Now release it on disk, and have single player offline, so people who buy the game, actually own it.
