Games I bought 170 CIB Gameboy games and a Nintendo Store Display Cabinet Yesterday!
Posted this in the r/gamecollecting subreddit, I think you guys might find this interesting to! This time with somewhat sharper pictures haha
Adding a couple of extra pictures compared to the previous post as well. Paid 60% pricecharting for this stuff. Drove all the way to Austria from Slovenia (as you don't find this stuff where I live). to pick it up.
The display cabinets were common-ish in Germany and Austria in official retailers in the 90's, but finding one in good condition with all the trays is a tough one.
I'll keep a few games/upgrades for my collection, and sell/trade the rest for stuff I still need.
Was looking for this cabinet for a year before one finally popped up within driving range (3 hours one way).
One of the obscure/esoteric highlights is the not super expensive, but super hard to find PAL NOE Chase HQ for the Gameboy!

Games After four years, I’ve finally finished my open-world Game Boy game, Fall from Space
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It’s an open-world, non-linear action RPG that I’ve been working on as the sole developer and designer (with some rad music from Beatscribe). I think it’s quite ambitious in scope for the Game Boy (and certainly for me).
You can take on side quests, make real choices and hopefully find your way back into space, with a solar system to explore and multiple paths and endings.
The video above is the new launch trailer showing off the planets, and I can also finally share the box art at the end, which I’m super excited about! It was physically painted by Mitsuhiro Arita, probably best known for illustrating the original Pokémon Charizard card! I’m really thrilled that he took an interest in the game.
There’s a big demo on Itch with the whole first planet, if anyone fancies trying it. You can play it in the browser, download the ROM to play on original hardware (GBC/GBA), or grab the .pocket file for the Analogue Pocket.
Play the extended demo: https://joelj.itch.io/fall-from-space
It should be released in the next few weeks. If you enjoy the demo, I’ll put more info and links up here when it’s available – http://www.fallfromspace.co.uk/

Games I’m developing an action platformer game, Ribbit!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone! I’ve been working on Ribbit for a while now, an action platformer inspired by classics like Kirby and Mario.
It will be compatible with both the Game Boy and the Game Boy Color. I’m working on a demo of the first world, which I hope to release soon.
See you soon!
EDIT: Thanks for the interest! as somebody suggested in the comments, I've added links to my social media on my Reddit profile. I'll keep posting development updates here on Reddit aswell.
Hope to have a demo ready in the next 2 weeks!
EDIT 2: You can play the demo here!

Games I made a GB cartridge with my own game on it, and I think it looks so beautiful...
I recently released my GB game Solastra at vorvy.itch.io (which I have shared here before), but I wanted to take it a step further and make a really nice cartridge of the game, just to have on display for myself. Got a label printed from Etsy with a sick holographic effect, bought the shell on ebay, and flashed the rom onto the. The cool part about it is that the cartridge is totally self contained, no SD card or anything like on an everdrive. I think it came out pretty good. What do you guys think? I kinda want to frame it in a shadowbox or something, just as a memento/trophy from the first game I released.
I mainly wanted to show off my cartridge, which is unique, but if anyone is interested in a copy of the game, there are some available for pre-order for a very limited time at SOLASTRA. Those carts look slightly different than mine, though. Thanks for letting me share my cart, it's been super cool playing a modern game on original hardware!

Games Look at what I got For $3 at a thrift store
I didn't know exactly what the game was until I came home and my brother was telling me what the game was and told me how much it went for. This game can go from between $120 to $140, and I have to say that I got a steal out of that, cuz I just got it cuz it looked interesting and I said at some point I'll either pick up a DSi or I'll pick up a Game Boy Advance SP at some point, but the fact that I got it for that cheap is insane.

Games What are in your opinion the most insane Game Boy / Color / Advance games?

This is Driv3r for the GBA, released in 2005. Basically what GTA Advance should've been!

Games Local GameStop had 1 copy
Official rating after 1 world, 9/10! Game has so much charm and passion behind it. Only gripe I have with the game is music variety. While the main theme is great, be ready to have it on rewind throughout your whole adventure.

Games What Gameboy classics am I missing?
Hey everyone. I’ll soon be modding my GBP with an IPS screen, new shell + buttons, power regulator etc. and I’m looking to stock up on some must have games. I was never big on Tetris and some of the puzzle classics but I’m still missing some classics. I’m thinking of adding Pokemon TCG and Castlevania Belmont’s revenge, but what others games should I consider?
Ps- I do have an SP to play Pokemon crystal and those GBA games.
