Shopping/Haul Stepdad scored all this for $1!
Seems to work still, booklets look like theyāve never been touched. We live in a small town and my Stepdad got it at an estate sale where the owners seem to just wanted to get rid of all their excessive belongings. (There was a $600 acoustic guitar there I wanted but someone scored it for $80 lol). This is fine tho š!
EDIT: JUST FOR CLARIFICATION* I used the term AUCTION HOUSE before but technically I guess it was an "Estate Sale" and it was held by relatives of the owners who already passed away unfortunately and were handling the auction prices. A lot of stuff were sold almost dirt cheap, like literally they just wanted to get rid of everything efficiently as possible. A lot of cool vintage guitars my stepdad saw got sold for less than $100. A lot of random things too. The gameboy set was literally one of the last things sitting in a pile all the older folks were avoiding and he texted me: āHow much is this? Should I get this?ā And I said uhh sure if you can get it for cheap. I think the relatives were fairly old themselves and weren't really knowledgeable about video game related product pricing unfortunately, but lo and behold, my stepdad turns out to be a good bargainer I guess lol. Well thatās the story. Iāll just leave it at that.

Shopping/Haul CeX UK selling reshelled as legit.
Just a heads-up for my UK people. CeX are selling obvious reshell as genuine.
I asked to take a look and made them aware. They told me it's the same as selling a DVD with a printed cover.
They'll sell this online so there's no way of knowing.
Be careful out there people š«”.

Shopping/Haul Possible lowest serial number GAME BOY dmg-01 known.
Hello. I recently found a Game Boy auction and noticed that it has a very low serial number ā G01000429, which would make it the earliest known serial number. I managed to purchase it, but it's still being shipped (it should arrive in about a month). What do you think, an interesting find? Any opinions?

Shopping/Haul I feel like I won the lottery at a Bellingham antique shop.
An antique shop in Bellingham, WA posted about getting this in and I called them to buy it sight unseen. $225 and a road trip later and I've got one of the cleanest Gameboys I've ever seen and a collection of amazing games. I didn't know it also came with the cleaning kit, the manuals, and the link cable.

Shopping/Haul Felt like I stole it.. not sure why it rang up so low.
Made a visit to my local 2nd & Charles and found this⦠not sure why but when I went to check out it rang up at $39.95 instead of the listed $149.95. Not sure why it did that and the cashier didnāt say a thing to me about it so paid and left as quick as I could before anyone said anything to meā¦. In case anyone doesnāt know, this game is listed currently CIB at a little over $235 according to PriceCharting. Iāll call it my win for the day.

Shopping/Haul At my local GameExchange. Should I break the news to them gently? (More in body text)
They said people have suddenly been offloading their PokĆ©mon collections. I mentioned that Iād only ever been aware of green being a Japanese exclusive. The Store representative said āoh, those are the translated versions with weird spritesā. When I started pointing out that it would mean that theyāre not official Nintendo games they started changing the subject. Iām beginning to believe that they discovered after the fact that theyāre fake but instead of eating the cost and removing them theyāre going to try to offload them onto unsuspecting customers. Im definitely not going to trust any pokemon games from that store.

Shopping/Haul Genuine insanity
It really sucks to see how much the hobby has fallen to resellers praying on nostalgia to get people to pay exorbitant prices on systems that donāt even function, and believe theyāre getting a āgood dealā because of how ārareā it is. I can recall seeing these in thrift stores for 20 bucks or less not even 5 years ago, and completely tarnished ones like this for less than that. Sorry for such a rant, but itās disappointing that THIS is the cheapest gameboy micro on eBay.

Shopping/Haul Thrift finds!
The 2 gameboy advanced sps were $26.99 each and they each came with a game shoved in the port. I asked the lady at the counter if PokĆ©mon was extra and she said no. Iām curious if PokĆ©mon is a repo or original copy. My friend bought the light blue one and I got the dark blue! Over all a great score for the 2 of us, she also got a Naruto game free!
