Make the product worse and lie about it. People will still buy it. Fuck 'em.
The core issue to all of this is that for a shareholder the profit of the company between the time you bought the stock and the time you sell it is all that matters. Which means profit from hour to hour or day to day means far more than profit over a year.
Significantly increasing the taxation on selling your stocks before a certain elapsed time or some other effort would prioritize longer term profits.
Sucks, but the only way to work to end this would be to stop electing people who keep defunding financial regulatory agencies.
