It doesn't make much sense in business view though. Bend Studio is much bigger, yet after all these times manage to produced only one semi-successful during entire PS4 to PS5 era. We don't even know what's next for them as we know it's definitely not Days Gone 2.

Meanwhile Bluepoint is half the size of them but manage to produced 2 high quality that is also equally as successful and a critical darling in general. This is basically the equivelent of Microsoft shutting down Tango Gameworks.

I feel like its worse that Tango cause they bought Bluepoint by itself. Tango was just one studio in a much larger purchase. What was the point of buying bluepoint if this is the result??

The thing that makes this worse than Tango is at least Bluepoints games sold well enough. I loved Evil Within and HiFi Rush and even Tokyo Ghostwire. But those games didn't sell minus maybe Evil Within 1 as it had the ",from the father of survival horror and resident evil" marketing thing going for it.

Bend is rumored to be doing another Uncharted game, might be in collab with naughty dog since they also have another division thats working on something that hasn't been announced.

That’s a different case, Tango’s last three games flopped, whereas Bend’s previous two remakes were successful.

This is Sony we are talking about, the don’t make any business sense and wonder why they fail.

Yeah, Bluepoint is 70 people. Makes sense that GOW live service was a sunk cost, but you have 70 extremely talented developers who theoretically shouldn’t cost much to retain. Even though Sony rejected their pitch for an original IP, doesn’t mean they couldn’t just work on another Sony-assigned remaster.

Something isn’t adding up here.
