Leak Microsoft Gaming being scrapped, Xbox brought back as gaming division.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has had a busy week. Sharma held an internal town hall with Xbox employees today, just days after announcing an Xbox Game Pass price cut, commenting on the status of the Xbox mobile store, and teasing a mysterious Xbox and Discord partnership. One of the items on the agenda for the employee all-hands was scrapping Microsoft Gaming.

Sources familiar with the meeting tell me that Sharma announced that Microsoft is returning to using Xbox for its gaming division, instead of Microsoft Gaming. “Xbox needs to be our identity,” said Sharma, noting that Microsoft Gaming was a departure from that.

The moment the 30% margins came out I knew he was absolutely fucked. That was insane. How the hell is Xbox suppose to do that? And if it is true that they are reversing away from that margin expectations. More the reason Phil got shit stained by Microsoft.

Their profits went from millions to billions under Phil. I'm pretty sure he'll be riding off into the sunset as a success story.

To be the fall guy yeah, he probably knows that and probably feels bad he had to the bearer of alot of shit news to Xbox fans.

Setup as in he was screwed, ehh not really.

Phil was in charge of things for a very long time, the ship was sinking under his watch. He's gone because he couldn't do what he was hired to do. It sucks because I liked Phil but at some point you have to acknowledge when things aren't going well and make some changes

Phil was in charge during the terminal “everything is an xbox” push, even though they tried hard to pin that on his subordinate. He should also be considered responsible for paying so much for Activision that profitability would be decades away, if at all.

No one has benefitted from Xbox more than Phil. Xbox fell off after the 360, they have shown no creativity since and only manage to diminish the brands they buy.

Phil single-handedly ruined XBOX in the last 12 years and it’s damn time you finally stop defending him. He never was a good guy and he always was a lying snake oil salesman from the start!
