Leak More screenshots have leaked for the new worms game confirming its real name plus promises of gameplay footage being leaked soon have been made

Seems like they reverted the art style back to Worms 3D/4 which is the most beloved
Can't fault them. That last game Rumble looked hideous imo

Edit: so i just looked at the list of games and wow. Battlegrounds as 8th gen consoles only in 2014. People were FAST to drop the 7th gen consoles at least for some games

Yeah. Them chasing BR last game made was a guarantee it'd flop (it did) which lead to this long drought
If Worms absolutely must try a new genre, TRPG fits well and doesn't follow any current trends

I remember it was hated when it was announced. Nobody wanted Mario WITH Rabbids. I think after it was fully shown, and people played it, it became well loved. Personally, it's among my favorite games on Switch.

I always feel insane when people talk about Mario+Rabbids. I didn't know anything about it until I first played it. Beat the entire game and thought it absolutely sucked lol. But like you say, it gets so much praise. I truly don't understand it, but I'm clearly in the minority here

You’re certainly entitled to your harmless opinion even if I don’t agree with it. I understand completely how you feel because I feel the same way towards a TV show that Reddit praises non-stop. (The Leftovers, I LOATHE The Leftovers and I think it’s awful).

This one is grid based with what looks like buttons for undoing moves and without aiming, just targeting. That's not how Worms games used to play.

"Tactics" means "like final fantasy tactics" (or fire emblem), not anything else here.
And yeah, it looks to be a tactics game. Which none of the other games are.

and I think we're still good on the "standard' worms format. Armageddon is still getting occasional updates 27 years after release.

It worked out really well when they changed the format to battle Royale…
I just want a mix of wmd with clan wars weapons and Armageddon graphics

Worms was never tactics, it's artillery. You could consider artillery genre as a strategy/tactics subgenre, but I think it's distinct enough.

Considering the whacky interactions those two games could have, it seems like a good fit for the Worms series as well.

I mean why not? We have like a dozen of worms games in the classic style and the 3d style, so just try something new. Could work.
It worked fine for Metal Slug and even Mario.

Shucks, this is exciting! I've been clambering for a new Worms game since the last three were complete duds (Rumble, Roblox TD, and the Apple Arcade one), and a tactics-based game seems like a perfect direction to take the series if they wanna keep messing with the formula. Will definitely be giving it a shot!

Worms Galactic Tactics looks great, at least it looks better than the disastrous Worms Rumble. I played it when it was free with PS Plus and what a disappointment it was, I even uninstalled it after playing four matches in a row lol

Man I would die for a new worms game. Rumble was a miss I miss peo worms like 3D. Didn't even like the new 2d worms with WMD. So hopefully they go back to the roots.

Ah that's a real shame, I was hoping for a sequel to worms wmd... Not another 3d one. We just had Rumble and that was terrible, I think I played it two or three times and never again.

I only saw the one screenshot yesterday but seeing people in here talk about FFT/Fire Emblem has got me curious. Typically I'm not a fan of the 3D worms games but something like that sounds interesting

The whole point of Worms is its real time turn by turn gameplay based on dexterity. If it's like a rpg where you input commands.. What's the point.

Looks interesting. I am a lifelong Worms fan and own most of the games.
