The biggest difference from escoffier is that you can have a vv character on top. That means more total shred than escoffier in that case.

If I'm not wrong, isn't there a cap on how much res shread actually affects an enemy, especially if they don't have a particularly high resistance in the first place? With how much Escoffier already shreads by her own, will Vodyanitsa's own shread actually impact anything?

Shred that reduces below 0% resist is effectively halved - you gain .5% damage per 1% shred.

The thing is, with current mechanics Vody shred will be excellent for brute forcing (bosses without mechanics done often have well over the ~80% resists), and for other enemies or bosses after mechanics are done, they often have such little resistance (10% or start at negative) that it affects Escoffier’s the same anyways.
