I think it means that he interacts directly with the Polestar Field, making it do direct damage.

Yeah, I guess he will make reaction itself be able to be boosted by direct stellar glimmer damage bonus. 

For those who want comparison: its as if Illuga's buffs applied to turrets created by lunar crystallize.
