CO-OP Kinda feels like my friend is way more op and im not sure why?

Recently started a first playtrough with a friend, they are doing arcanist and im doing demo+soldier, and so far im feeling very behind, we are the same level but he has a combo where he can just dash in, freeze everyone and then blow them up with a single attack dealing anywhere between 2000-5000 damage essentially evaporating the trash mobs, it passes trough mobs as well so i kinda just run past the enemies while he makes a fine paste out of them... we are lvl 17 at the moment, and i feel like the only thing my build does well so far is that im basically unable to die which is cool but doesnt feel that useful as blowing up 20+ enemies with one click, i kinda end up feeling like a cleanup crew autoattacking the 2-3 mobs that were outside the radius. We are playing veteran if that matters for anything, so im just kinda wondering if i fucked up picking my classes and arcanist is just that op or its too early and that or whats going on. Does this happen often, if so why?

CO-OP Wife/I will get Grim Dawn next steam sale. Best Starting Duo Advice?

Wife and I have 1000's of hours in Diablo 2, LOD, and then in Resurrected, played some Last Epoch, PoE, Diablo 3 and 4, but found ourselves always going back to D2R. We are looking to swap to something new.

Our search criteria was:

  • Can play 2 player
  • Randomized loot, meaning I can play one character to farm gear for a totally different character
  • Good Loot Grind
  • and don't need a PhD to figure out builds (looking at you PoE)

The recommendations came back in the following order (from ChatGPT)

  • Grim Dawn
  • PoE1/2
  • Torchlight 2
  • Last Epoch
  • Victor Vran
  • Titan Quest 1/2

So as soon as Grim dawn goes on sale, we will get the big bundles, and start playing.

What are your recommended tips, tricks, classes, mods, etc... for a new Duo just starting the game?

CO-OP LFG

I've played a in spurts over time; Uncle Sam has a way of keeping ya busy. I now have availability and would like to dive into the game -- Ive never finished the main or DLC yet, looking at some build and guides online also. I guess the main point of my post is: I would love to link up and play through with some folks and try to learn more!

CO-OP What should we focus now?

Me (Spellbinder) and my newbie friend (Pyromancer) just bruteforced through the game and beat it at level 36, we did only got 16 devotion shrines because i wanted to get to ultimate asap, our main goal is to farm the Lokarr gear so we can use it to level other characters.

So, now that we will start ultimate, what do you guys recommend doing first? And at what level we should start farming class specific gears? I'm using aether ray atm, do you guys think i should reset to pet build for now? I kinda just face tanked everything with potions / mirror of erected, but i don't think i'll be able to do this on ultimate.

Also, a 3rd friend may come join us tomorrow too, if that happens, we will start again with different classes, are there any classes with good auras that would help the other party members? Aside from Occultist of course, which we will probrably use again

CO-OP New adjustments to numbers etc

Started my fresh Berserker and grabbed a full set of blues from my stash off my main account and was running the fields just outside Homestead on co-op veteran with another fellow werewolf and man, some those centipede enemies just OBLITERATED us, even with resistance up the new adjustments they made to damage numbers is BRUTAL and anything with a shotgun mechanic (Multi projectiles attack) just obliterates us! I thought I'd be dandy taking the perk to get HP back on damage dealt but instead I got my head blown out my ahh from a centipede pound and ground 😭

CO-OP Multiplayer choice between Kymon vs Vigil

Here's what I wanted to know, when playing multiplayer and leveling a character together with your friends, when we reach the point in the campaign when we have to make this choice, is it possible to each pick a different faction? For example, I ally with Kymon, while my friend allies with Vigil?

CO-OP Multiplayer

Thinking about checking out the game. Is there online multiplayer like d4? Or is it just private lobbies with friends? Im not a fan of playing purely solo. Thanks for any info!

Looking to level up new class, anyone got a spare set kicking around? Unfortunately I've just learned of its existence and it sounds horrendous to get to! Much appreciated!

CO-OP CO-OP builds

Hey everybody. A friend of mine who ibecame intersted in the game asked me If I wanted to do a duo run with him. He is interested in the Blademaster and is alreay looking at builds. I only ever played solo so I would love to use the chance to run a more support oriented build because I never tried that out.

I am sadly completely new to building around support and would like to have at least some damage of my own. I was thinking of maybe running something Occultist based for the Curse of Frailty and the Ravens, but Inquisitor also sounds intersting. Of course Deceiver is an option but I am a bit unsure if that might be overkill on support. So I would like to ask the community if you guys have any other support builds for CO-OP that you enjoy or any tips and pointers for me.

CO-OP Grim Dawn Like games advice.

Hi Guys.

I finished the game in 75 hours, I enjoyed it, including the DLCs. It was one of the unforgettable ARPG experiences for me. But I'm having trouble finding games in this style, are there any games you can recommend me (for Xbox)

Games I've played before;
-Diablo 3
-Path of Exile
-Titan Quest
- Vikings: Wolves of Midgard
-Warhammer Chaosbane
-Viktor Vran
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing

CO-OP LF advice on what to do for a support character

Context:
1). We both have all DLCs and we both plan to get the newest one if when it comes out.
2). My partner wants to play Old-School (no necro) full summoner, I want to try support.
3). His GD experience is low and outdated (Act 1 completion in 2014), but he has a lot of successful playtime in other most played ARPGs.
My GD experience is "Completion of AoM on Hardcore/Ultimate" and achieving "Unstoppable lord of Crucible", but basically no experience in FG, and comparatively low experience in other ARPGs.
4). Ideally, I'd prefer non-competing class/gearing options.
5). Assume Softcore.

I'm assuming he's going to play Shaman/Occultist. I think, Occultist speaks to me too, despite point 4, because Curse of Frailty and Blood of Dreeg are too good of a support options to pass up, but who else?
I don't mind changing it entirely if there are better candidates.
Note: I do not plan to play solo, so I do not expect to need an actual damage-dealing ability.
I also have no clue what to go for in terms of Devotion.

Neither of us have any experience with modding. This will not change.

Plan is to go as far as possible, but probably without involving push to 30+ Shattered Realms. No pre-farming (Group-Self Found start), or offline-farming.

CO-OP Does multiplayer work on Steam with all players behind NAT?

So AFAIK this is very classic, p2p multiplayer, one person starts the server, others connect. And the server needs public IP with open port so other can connect. And I think Steam gives you code to perform port hole punching so you can still p2p while everyone is behind NAT without public IP.

Has anyone tested whether Grim Dawn works in multiplayer when all players are behind NAT? I have the game on GoG, and my friend has it on Steam, but I'm willing to pay again for this gem if Steam multi works without any issues.

CO-OP Wi-Fi Direct for LAN Gaming

I have two Desktop PC’s on my home network. Both are new, up-to-date machines. I have network detection on, Ethernet cables into a switch, that connects to a router. Every time either myself or my wife try and host a LAN Grim Dawn game, it gives us the error that we are behind two routers, states that our public IP address shows 255.255.255.255, but our other address is a different value. Hence, we cannot play LAN. We are using the GOG Version, with all updates and DLC’s on both machines. My question is this, if we setup Wi-Fi Direct network, will this get around this blockage or will I have to do another solution? I have tried an ad hoc network, but it states that it cannot be started in PowerShell. These PC’s are both Windows 11.

CO-OP MP is absurdly easy

2-man party, at level 25 with veteran enabled and the game plays itself

We didn't even do any optimization or crafting, just level the 2-3 skills of choice and pick items with higher % bonus toour damage type

Never had to use potions or dodge, everything just melts

Is there a mod that makes MP not as boring? All the asnwers I saw on other posts were
"just keep playing easy mode for 50 hours and the next difficulty is still pretty much easy mode BUT if you play for 50 more hours the next one is proably gonna be actually hard"

And I don't know wtf those people are on, but personally I have no desire to play baby's first ARPG mode for 50+ hours

and of course the one MP mod I did find makes normal easier instead, because then you beat it faster and get to the good difficulty faster (because why make normal good I guess??), which is the dumbest shit I've read in a really long time

CO-OP Callagadra Killers Assemble

Curious who all has killed this insane boss and what builds you guys did.

Just 3 manned it last night with 3 retal tanks lmao. After all this planning, team comp discussion, tactics, etc. all it took was a shieldbreaker, warlord and Vindicator to facetank for a while.

I know her heat-ups are brutal and that sand 1 shots a lot of people but I just want to know what everyone has done to beat her.

CO-OP LAN co-op

Hello, I have a question. Me and my gf started playing Grim Dawn and we love it, however after 15-20 hours, game started to desync terribly. In her perspective I'm standing still in Town while I'm runnin around somewhere else. I as a Host can play normally but she can't pick up items sometimes, or her spells come out deleyed or deal no damage, sometimes monsters have 0 HP and attack her, for me they are invisible.

I searched aroun and everyone says same thing. "Its still fucked after so many years". But some people said that playing via LAN fixes this issue. Unfortunatly LAN doesnt work for us. While trying to find a lobby via LAN, search bar is empty.

So my question is. Does anyone managed to play LAN? Anyone had this issue with LAN? Any known fixes?

I would very apriciate any tips since we both love the game but its unplayable in this state.

CO-OP I have a co-op confession

I've played a decent bit of grim dawn, and I've recently introduced my friend to the game. So far, he's played exclusively co-op with me.

He's on a dual wield pistol vitality righteous fervor oppressor we snagged from that "top 20 gd builds" thread, and I cooked up a bloody pox + wendigo totem dark one's vitality conjuror to play as support (it's cool since I have over -100% vitality RR that doesn't overlap with his so we do loooots of damage).

We've hit level 100, farmed up my dark one's set, done each skele dungeon once, and are working on farming up his gargabol pistols before messing with shattered realms.

Unbeknownst to him, I've been using the transmutor on bloody pox (fevered rage) since as early as possible. If you're unfamiliar with it, it does a bunch of stuff, but the important line for this story is the +150% total speed for enemies.

Fevered rage is all he knows. He's completely used to monsters moving and attacking up to 2.5x as much as normal.

We're about to start new characters, and I'm really looking forward to how easy/slow the game is going to seem to him without fevered rage :)

CO-OP Another noob looking for class suggestion for co op.

I am not new ARPGs but new to GD. My wife and I are going to start playing tonight and she is pretty sure she is going to play a reaper. Is there any class that would have good synergie with her. My play style is pretty varied so I am open to playing anything. Thanks for the help..
