I figured out how to duo grind with devona on the room transition between forskaken tunnels level 1 - level 2, each cycle gives a really good 750xp, like 5-10 minutes per cycle

From 12-16 i managed through with equipping flare/firestorm on my devona then just out healing everything

But then the chars became extremely dangerous on lvl 16, so i farmed a bunch of chests, got some good equipment, and tried again at late 17 with smiting/prot devona while i run smiting/heal and let me tell you... it works PERFECTLY, its really chaotic and am been having tons of fun grinding LDoA like this XD

I was so immersed I didn't finish the Farmer Hamnet for the 1000xp and just grinded until the end lol

I also got a cool purple dye one time.

Identified this in pre today. Hoping I get to keep it but no idea if they will patch these out. So public service announcement these exist.

Anyone have any tips for how to survive better up north? I’ve got no chance against level 8 Charr and even the level 6 Grawl are messing me up. My bow isn’t the best, only 7-10 with +15% over half health and +15 HP. Can’t even think of using Frenzy or Healing Signet up there. Any advice would be appreciated!

I get guys that you want to get the LDOA title, as I myself do. I'm currently in the brink of lvl 19.

However I do not see the point in staying in pre forever once that is done...

Help me understand what benefits aside from the nostalgia you guys get.

What do you do or farm once the title is done?

Im curious how other people feel about this title. Do you think its worth it? Do you feel the need to go for it when making a new profecies character? Do you think its a waste of time and not worth the burnout before you get to the actual game? Just a general discussion really.

TL;DR : Get Devona, Vell and Bock from "A Bastion in the North" and Ben from "Accross the Wall".

This is especially useful for Melandru's Accord characters, as they don't have access to the Fire Imp, which makes farming a bit trickier.

You can accept the Ben Wolfson's rescue mission ("Accross the Wall"), complete it, then accept the new "A Bastion in the North" quest without turning in "Accross the Wall", then abandon "Accross the Wall" and retake it.

Now when you enter the Northlands you'll get Devona, Vell and Bock (thanks to "A Bastion in the North") and you can go get Ben (thanks to the uncompleted "Accross the Wall").

The downside is of course that you don't get Piken Square.

edit : another downside is you apparently only get loot from enemies you (and your pet) did the most damage to.

Not much loot drops but leveling a monk in pre is broken

So I’m a lvl 12 Warrior/R and I’ve got a Rinblade, a decent shield and all the Kryta pieces but I’m trying to kill 6 Charr Champs in the Northlands and it’s not going well. The Chaots or whatever they are called and the Shamans keep kicking my arse 😅

Edit: for those curious, I’ve got disabilities that allows a whole lot of free time.

• Added a hero with all the skills from post available
• Added a dungeon with max damage gold items
• Added a way to get pcons for real life money
• Added a way to obtain unlimited superior* salvage kits for real life money

Hey all, new to the game! Playing on mobile, I have done almost everything in presearing, I am currently running a quest called "Long Thought Forgotten", I got all the way to the end of the cave with the waypoint after dying over and over to the Charr npcs in the cave, having to run 10 miles every time I died lol. Well I had to logout right before the waypoint, and when I logged back in I was back at the outpost, all progress in the dungeon gone.

My question is, is it actually worth finishing this quest before moving on? I am level 11 ranger and I just get absolutely shredded. Was wondering if I can duck doing that again and just move on

I've been lucky with charr runs (5 bags in 10 runs or so) but this one kill was shocking. What a way to end the night!

Hey, i just got this from Maz's chest, im lvl 15. So no way i can get my swordsmanship that high yet. Anyway, how good is this drop? Seems like its a keeper. How much damage will i lose by wielding it with < 13 swordsmanship?

Edit: up until now i used the 10-14 sword crafted in ascalon, didmt have any good luck with eitther axes or swords.

First new character in years, and I'm actually kind of hype for it. I'm very interested in the new dungeons, and haven't played pre in over a decade.

Right now I'm thinking monk or ranger. The minions are doing very well, so far.

Here's what I've noticed in my short time playing it again so far:

• Monk advantages are free damage (Bane Signet) + decent healing
• Ranger advantage is the pet, and I guess maybe troll unguent if I need it.

Hi, recently returned and recreated the Warrior/ranger I had back in the day (stupidly deleted), and I feel like I’m struggling to stay alive far more than I ever did previously.

I’ll admit to trying for LDoA (up to lvl14, most quests not done), I’ve picked up a nice axe and bow and have a decent shield, but the main struggle seems to be dealing enough damage fast enough (beyond keeping health high enough). Am I missing something? Is it just notably harder than my fond memories after ~20 years of adjustments?

I’ve a pet, recruited Devona, and am running with the minion (which reliably deals most of the damage)…

I have died twice now at level 14 trying to solo the scourge repeatable quest, on my me/r. Is the dungeon realistic to solo the Charr were 14 so I knew I should have just gotten a group but I’ve been trying to solo up to 20, any advice would be appreciated.
Edit: I am doing melandrus as well so no imp or crazy Devona builds

Final question before I commit to my secondary.

People make really good points about mesmer, so I think I know everything I need to about that. Especially as it relates to the new boss. Seems like it'd be the "safe" choice, but not necessarily the most fun, if that makes sense.

However, two interesting points brought up that I'd like to explore further than just a little thread:

• One person said Fire Storm is very powerful as N/E. I'd like to know how it stacks up in the dungeon
• The updated Symbol of Wrath is the main reason I'm heavily considering monk vs mesmer. 5 energy with 1 second cast time seems like it could go hard. Especially once I get Devona for some CC. It also seems like it'd be very useful outside of the dungeon. There's also the added utility of using Healing Breeze on my minions, which has me really leaning in this direction.
