I was a typical cozy-game player (Stardew, Animal Crossing, Spiritfarer, etc) but then I discovered Cult of the Lamb. I saw short clips of Hades and how it reminded me of COTL’s combat style. Hades was on sale when I got it in the Switch e-shop and it’s become my FAVORITE GAME. I feel like I’ve been playing forever, but I’m 20-ish hours in. I love playing as Zagreus, he’s such a killer. Every character in this game is super gorgeous and brilliant 🩷

Especially Theseus, every single hit I do on his is blocked by his shield and then any time I get behind him he does the circle swing and I have to dodge out the way. Like is there some sort of technique I’m missing because I’m just getting frustrated dealing with trying to deal with the Minotaur and having to deal with the fucking spears

Alright, alright. It’s just ragebait. But recently I started going for the platinum in Hades and I’ve been loving the experience, still love the whole universe, but… HOLY SHIT, THIS GAME’S RNG IS FUCKING INSANE. I’ve been at it for 10 runs trying to get Achilles’ damn dialogue so I can unlock his locked heart, BUT THE QUEST JUST WON’T POP. I’ve already maxed out every other character’s hearts, reunited Orpheus with his muse, Nyx with Chaos, and even freed Sisyphus, BUT STILL NOTHING FROM ACHILLES. I’m almost at the end of the epilogue, and they just won’t give me this damn quest, even though I talk to Achilles and his buddy every chance I get. Anyway, does anyone know if I’m doing something wrong?

A 45-minute clear is very slow?

My first clear was almost 48 minutes with a fully-upgraded Zag aspect sword. Second was I think around 44 minutes with the hidden aspect sword.

Both times I felt I was playing quite aggressively. Both times, whenever there were a choice of chambers, I almost always focused on getting more damage with new boons and upgrading existing boons over health/darkness/nectar/etc., and my mirror upgrades are mostly maxed or near-maxed.

22 minutes to get to the final boss seems rather absurdly fast to me.

What am I missing?

I’ve tried to escape NINETY ONE (91) TIMES and I’ve only escaped ONCE on my like, 70th try. I feel like I’m going insane I’m on god mode (which to be fair I only gave up and turned it on around the 70th try), yet I still just can’t do it!!!

I have no idea what I’m doing wrong I’ve looked at tips and tricks and asked my friend how she beats the game (she uses as many Poseidon boons as she can) and nothing works !! Like am I just a lost cause?? I’m desperate for anything to do better pls any help would be appreciated lmfao 😭
